A Saudi man divorced his bride immediately he saw her face for the first time on their wedding day

When I read this story, I could not stop laughing for like 10-minutes!
 
A Saudi man who did not see the face of his bride until their wedding day when photographers asked them to pose for photographs has divorced the woman.
 
The couple who are both from the western town of Medina both agreed to marry each other despite having not seen each other physically.
 
According to Okaz, a local Medina magazine, when the photographers asked the couple to pose for photographs, and the woman lifted her veil, the man leapt to his feet in disgust saying, '' You are not the girl I want to marry, you are not the one I had imagined.  I am sorry, but I divorce you''.  LWKMD o!

Pope Francis to make first US visit in 2015

Pope Francis is scheduled to make his first visit to the US in 2015 since being made a Pontiff.
 
The Argentine-born Francis during a speech at the Vatican said , ''I wish to confirm according to the wishes of the Lord, that in September 2015, I will go to Philadelphia for the World Meeting of Families''.
 
During his visit he is also expected to address Congress and deliver a speech to the United Nations to mark its 70th anniversary.
 
 
 

Fani-Kayode discharged and acquitted by court

The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos today discharge and acquitted Chief Femi Fani-Kayode of thirty Eight count charge bordering on money laundering out of the forty counts filed against him.
 
The presiding judge, Rita Ofili Ajumogobia while appraising the submission of the prosecution said the (persecution) failed woefully to prove beyond reasonable doubt the offense in thirty eight counts.
 
Fani-Kayode was therefore asked to re-enter his defence again for count twenty five and twenty six.
 
 

Seven members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly impeach Speaker under tight security

 
 Adewale Omirin,  the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly was today impeached by seven members of the house under extreme tight security led by Mobile Police Commander Selenkere Michael.
 
Sources said the police prevented nineteen other members including the Speaker Adewale Omirin from gaining access to the assembly complex.
 
One Olugbemi is said to have been elected as the new speaker of the house.

20-year-old UK medical student in jihad beheading video

A sickening video that was on YouTube for an hour yesterday morning shows a UK medical student Nasser Muthana, 20, among an Islamic state killing squad that murdered 17 hostages.  The video also featured the decapitated body of Peter Kassig, a 26-year-old American medical aid worker.
 
Ahmed Muthana, father to the jihadist said he cannot be certain if it was Nasser.  Although the person in the video looks like him.  He said, ''I cannot be certain but it looks like my son.  He must fear Allah now for killing people.  How can he expect to face Allah if he is killing human beings.''  Asked if he will forgive and accept his son back if he decide to return back to Cardiff UK, the 57-year-old said,'' No, he must be mentally ill - either that or there is something else not right''.

New York first Ebola case Dr. Craig Spencer's treatment cost $20million

Senator Charles Schumer have asked President Barack Obama to pick up the $20million bill used in the treatment of Dr. Craig Spencer by the Bellevue Hospital.
 
Last week Dr. Spencer retuned home having been given clean health bill from the Ebola virus.  But it was learnt that the treatment wasn't  free and the total bill amounted to approximately $20million.
 
According to Senator Schumer, 100 health workers were involved in Dr. Spencer's treatment.  Also a 24-hour-a-day operation with 500 staffs was put in place to monitor more than 300 people who arrive daily from West Africa Ebola hot spots.

150 Nigerian Teachers stranded in Sierra Leone, Liberia and other West African countries

It was gathered that approximately 150 Nigerian teachers in Sierra Leone, Cote D'Ivoire and Liberia have resulted to self help and finding their way into Nigeria after calls to the Federal Government of Nigeria to evacuate them form the Ebola ravaged countries have yielded no result.
 
The teachers are said to be part  of the group sent on a 2-year programme to Sierra Leone, Cote D'Ivoire, Liberia and other west African countries under the Nigerian Aids Corps Programme which is coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  The teachers are specialists in mathematics, English and other sciences.
 
 

Synagogue: 11 bodies of South Africans who died in the Synagogue Church building collapse still uncounted for

South African Deputy President, Cyril Ramaphosa said yesterday at a ceremony at the Waterkloof air force base Pretoria, marking the arrival of the bodies of 74 victims, that great efforts are being made by the South African Government to ensure that the remaining 11 bodies of South Africans who died during the building collapse at the Synagogue Church of all Nations are identified and brought back home.
 
He said,  We will intensify our efforts to ensure that the bodies still in Nigeria are returned without delay,” he said .
“President  Jacob Zuma has made a commitment that we need to make sure that we leave no stone unturned, and that all 85 must be brought back home.
“But that is dependent on the Nigerian authorities who are responsible for these DNA samples. We are going to work with them to ensure that eventually, the other victims … are brought back when it is humanly and scientifically possible,”
 
 

Former Anambra State Governor, Jim Nwobodo's son is dead

Ifeanyichukwu Jim Nwobodo, a son to the former governor of Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo is dead.  He died in a private hospital in Enugu after a battle with cancer.

It was learnt the deceased had recently returned from hospital in Huston Texa, US where he had gone to receive treatment.  He was said to have been getting better but suddenly passed on after complaining of pains in his leg.

Traditional healer kills a woman and dumps body at the Lagos Marine bridge

Mr. Isiaka Akanbi, 62-years, popularly known as Alfa, is currently under investigation at the  State Criminal Investigation Department, Lagos  for the death one Raliatu Kareem.
 
According to Punch, both Isiaka Akanbi and the deceased have known each other for more than 20 years.
 
It was learnt the deceased,  Raliatu, had left her home immediately after the monthly state environmental sanitation cleaning exercise on October 25, to go visit her niece who had put to birth.  After staying with the new mother up to 6pm same day, she decided to visit Alfa.

Breaking News: Female suicide bomber kills self and others in Bauchi State

A female suicide bomber today at a phone market in Azare, Bauchi State detonated a bomb killing herself and several others.

She was said to have come into the market towards closing time and blew herself up at the middle of the market.

As at the time of writing this information, sources said up to eight dead bodies have been counted and several others injured.

The Commission of Police in the State, Lawal Shehu confirmed the incident and said rescue operation was in progress.




It is believed that Boko Haram have up to 60,000 fighters

A source close to the Boko Haram sect revealed  to The Nation newspaper startling information about the sect and why they seem to be having an upper hand in the on going war.
 
He said the sect can boast of 60,000 fighter including underage insurgents.
 
He said. '' “Boko Haram has nearly 10,000 ideological army and over 50,000 conscripts, including 40 per cent underage. We are not even counting numerous sect members in Abuja, Kano, Bauchi and in different parts of Nigeria, West Africa and as far as Sudan.  “Most of them prefer to die in battle than to be back to their camps safely due to the endemic indoctrination within the cult group.   “This is the reason why I always say here and everywhere that this crisis is far from over. The only thing for now: is  Allah to protect us and unite us to defeat our enemies.” 
  

Another US hostage killed by IS militants

A video released onto the internet claims the Islamic State militants have killed the captured United States aid worker, Abdul Rahman Kassig.
 
The video which is yet to be confirm by the US government shows a masked militant standing over a severed head said to be that of Kassig.
 
Mr. Kassig, 26years, was a former US army medical personnel, who later went back to Syria to render medical assistance to injured Syrians.  He was captured last year October.  He later adopted Islam as his religion while captivity.
 

 
 

Synagogue: The bodies of 66 South Africans who died in the collapsed synagogue church building have been taken home

66 bodies of South Africans who died during the collapsed building at the Synagogue Church of all Nation have been taken home to South Africa.
 
The bodies were taken from both the Isolo General Hospital and the Main Land Hospital Yaba.
 
The South African team who shunned our local facilities arrived the country in two aircraft which brought in four forensics, pathologists, trucks, generators, water buses, pick up vehicles and every other thing they will need for the identification and evacuation of the bodies.

Report have it that Fulani herdsmaen are seriously ravaging the village of Alakio in Nasarawa State.  Many are said to have been killed.

Sources also said there is no security presence in the area as many people are running to Eggon for safety.

Town of Chibok recaptured by Nigeria Army from Boko Haram

In a press release by the Nigeria Army, the north eastern town of Chibok which was captured by the insurgents last week Thursday was recaptured yesterday evening by the  troops of the 7 Division Nigerian Army.
 
Spokesman for the military, General Olajide Olaleye said ''mopping up ops is on going.  The town is now secured''.
