The Christian Association of Nigeria, South West chapter has called on the Federal Government to explain what they know about the arms deal which resulted in South Africa seizing $9.3M from two Nigerians and one Israeli.

Soldier kills colleague in Bayelsa State

There was panic yesterday evening in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State following the killing of a soldier by his colleague.

The incident happened at Olopa junction close to the Bayelsa State Government House.

As at press time, details were still very sketching and identities of both soldiers are yet to be known.

Breaking News: TASUED Deputy Vice Chancellor kidnapped

The Deputy Vice Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Educaton, Ijagun, Ogun State, Prof. Olusoga Olusanya has been kidnapped.

Prof. Olusanya was abducted on Monday evening while on his way from Fed. Univesity of Agriculture Abeokuta where he had gone to perform an official function.

The kidnappers are yet to contact the family.

Woman found near Mubi in Adamawa not part of the Chibok girls

A young woman found wandering in a bush near Mubi in Adamawa State on September 24 and alleged to be part of the Chibok girls have been found not be one of the abducted school girls.  But rather was abducted four months earlier.

A source said the girl told the authorities that she was abducted four months earlier than the school girls in a separate raid.

Policeman killed, body dumped inside a well in Benue State

A lifeless body of a policeman identified as Corporal Onu Adeyi was discovered dumped in a well in Gboko, Benue State. 

The late Corporal Adeyi attached to the Gboko (3) division who was said to be an idoma was alleged to have been murdered by unknown persons who are currently at large.

Ebola outbreak: Dallas nurse who has Ebola received blood from American Ebola survivor Kent Brantly

The Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital nurse who contracted Ebola from Liberian Thomas Eric Duncan has been identified as Nina Pham.  She got a blood transfusion from American Ebola survivor Kent Brantly as stated by Jeremy Blume, a spokesman for the Samaritan Purse.  Kent Brantly was working for the Samaritan Purse in Liberia when he contracted the virus.

Alameiseigha’s son dies in Dubai


Ex-Bayelsa Governor, Diepriye Alameiseigha has lost his son Oyoms Alameiseigha to the cold hands of death in Dubai.   

According to the report, Oyoms who was said to be the second to the last of his sons was assassinated on Saturday in the United Arab Emirate.
 

Soldiers raid claimed two lives at an Abuja joint


An operation by a group of Nigerian soldiers at Dagba Joint Area 1 Abuja has claimed 2 lives.

 The incident which took place on Friday evening over alleged sale of hard drugs led to the death of the two people and several others who sustained injuries.
