Breaking news: Shooting at a high school in Washington DC

Security are presently responding to a reported school shooting in Marysville, Washington, just north of Seattle.  it is reported that the shooting stated from close to the school cafeteria.
 
A student who spoke with CNN on the phone said most students thought it was a fire drill until teachers told them to run into the classrooms because there was a shooting.
 
It is believed  a boy came into the school with fire arms and opened fire close to the cafeteria.

American nurse with Ebola cured, to meet with President Barack Obama

The nurse who caught Ebola while caring for the patient diagnosed in Dallas was released from the hospital today free from the virus, and is to meet later in the day with President Barack Obama at the while house.

Nurse Nina Pham said she felt "fortunate and blessed to be standing here today," as she left the National Institutes of Health's hospital outside Washington.  She thanked her health care team in Dallas and at the NIH and singled out fellow Ebola survivor Dr. Kent Brantly, who recovered after becoming infected in Liberia, for donating plasma containing Ebola-fighting antibodies as part of her care.

Police in Delta State arrest robbery suspects with plenty of ammunitions

DSP Celestine Kalu, the spokesperson for the Police Command Delta State said they have arrested  two robbery suspects who allegedly robbed a filling station with cache of arms and ammunition inside an Audi Salon car.

She said, “On Oct. 23, 2014, at about 7:30 p.m., operatives of Dragon Patrol Team 06 covering Orenigbe/Umutu, while on patrol, intercepted one suspected Audi salon car with number plate USL 05 XB.  “The car was driven by one, Ibiang Ofem, 33 and a passenger, Sunday England, 20, who were promptly arrested following the discovery of arms and ammunition in the car.”


Two brothers arrested in Pakistan after making ''human curry'' out of a corpse

Lawmakers in Pakistan have filed a bill banning the exhuming of corpses for consumption or magical purposes after two brother Mohammed Arif Ali 35, and Mohammed Farman Ali 30 were found to have dug up more than 100 corpses from the local graveyard by making human curry stew out of them.

New York's first Ebola patient will be treated at the Bellevue Hospital Manhattan

New York's first Ebola patient, Craig Spencer, 33 will be treated in a 278 year-old Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan.
 
Craig Spencer tested positive for the virus 10 days after returning from treating infected Ebola patients in West Africa; where he was working with Doctors without Borders.  He was said to have developed a fever and gastrointestinal symptoms Thursday morning and was taken to the Bellevue hospital.
 
For more than two months the hospital has been preparing for Ebola cases by ensuring their health workers practise safety protocols, donning and removing protective gear using a budding system to avoid contamination.

Mali Ebola update: WHO sends Medics to Mali as they confirmed first Ebola case

The WHO is sending medical experts to Mali to help the West Africa country prevent the spread of Ebola after its first confirmed case.
 
A 2-year old girl was diagnosed with the disease yesterday having been brought into the country from neighbouring Guinea. The girl whose father died of Ebola was taken to the hospital in Kayes after it was noticed she was exhibiting Ebola like symptoms.  A test later confirmed she has Ebola.  The girl and other members of her family who have might have been exposed to the virus are all in the hospital.

Comedian Ayo Makun (AY) while speaking to a Punch correspondent said he would do anything possible to make his marriage work.  He said he would not allow his present heavy work schedule to come between him and his family.

When asked if he would go into active politics, he said he would rather stay in the entertainment industry than dabble into active politics unlike some of his colleagues.  That he would rather stick to the entertainment industry he knows so well.

Pastor in jail for snatching cars at gun point

A Lagos Magistrate court sitting in Ikeja have asked that a pastor of a church be reminded in the prisons until December 3, 2014.

The pastor, Adebambo Adetunji, 37, is alleged to be a member of a gang of robbers who specialised in robbing motorist, snatching cars and robbing innocent victims of their valuables.

The suspect and others now at large were said to have converted a Toyota Camry and Mercedes Benz ML320 with number plates MUS 413 BH and LND 623 BC respectively.

On Tuesday, the suspect was brought before the Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Oshodi on three counts bordering on armed robbery.  The charges read in part;
