Mohammadu Buhari, APC presidential candidate boycotts BON presidential debate

Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), will not be featuring in the presidential debate organised by the Broadcast Organisation of Nigeria (BON).

 According Garba Shehu, Director, media and publicity of the APC presidential campaign organisation, the boycott is due to the “unhidden bias and campaign of calumny by some key organisers of the programme, against the corporate political interest of the party (APC) and its candidates”.

According to TMZ, Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey are reportedly being sued by their former nanny who claims she was fired for showing too much affection towards the couple’s kids, Monroe and Moroccan, both 3.
 
 

Buhari to be in Lagos tomorrow for his presidential campaign

Mohammadu Buhari, APC presidential candidate for next month gubernatorial election will be holding his presidential campaign tomorrow in Lagos at the Teslim Balogun stadium Surulere.

The campaign will start by 10am.


Are prople really being ask to pay before collecting their PVC or registering for National Identity Card?

I have been reading on the internet about people paying to pick up their Permanent Voters Card.

Today, the below lady is declaring that she was made to cough out N300 before she could register for National Identity Card.

Are we suppose to pay for the registration of NIC?  I thought it is free?



Gas explosion at Mexico children maternity hospital, kills at least 7

A gas tank truck explosion collapsed large parts of a Mexico City maternity and children's hospital today, leaving at least 7 dead, dozens injured and others believed trapped.

Those killed included four children and three adults, according to Mexico City Mayor Miguel Angel Mancera.
The explosion led to the collapse of 30 percent of the hospital building and the injuries to at least 54 people, including 22 children.

Dr. Sid's wife, Simi Osomo will be delivery her baby in the UK

Simi Osomo, Dr. Sid's wife who is heavily pregnant has left Nigeria to the UK where she is expected to deliver her baby.  She and Dr. Sid got married last year.

Wish her a safe delivery.




North West flushed Kanye West's phone down the toilet


Kim K revealed that 19-month-old North West deliberately dropped her father’s phone into the toilet and flushed it down.

The 34-year-old mother-of-one who saw this as a funny side of her daughter, revealed this during her Heat radio interview with Ryan Seacrest this week.  She also said she made spirited efforts to save her husband, 37-year-old Kanye’s phone by using rice.
 

WHO: New Ebola cases drop to lowest level in 7 months

The number of new Ebola cases reported in the three worst-hit countries fell to its lowest level since late June, according to WHO today.
Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone had a combined total of 99 new cases for the week ending January 25, the WHO said.
The total breaks down to 65 in Sierra Leone, 30 in Guinea and four in Liberia.
 

Naija diamonds season 2 star, Joshua Adah killed by Fulani herdsmen in Taraba State

Joshua Adah, one of the participants of Mo Abudu's Naija 2012 Diamonds Season 2 has been killed by Fulani herdsmen.  Joshua was hacked to death in Taraba State on 23rd January 2015.
 
According to reports, Joshua who has a ministry and an NGO in Taraba State, where he offers free medicine and clothing to the poor was returning to his station in Banteje, a village close to Jalingo, from an evangelistic outreach to some villages.
 
 


Woman alleged assault by Lebanese couple, report at the Police station

A woman, Mrs. Grace Okpara, has reported to the police that she was allegedly tortured by her bosses, who are Lebanon nationals. 
 
Our correspondent gathered that Grace worked as a cleaner at a logistics company in Ibafo, Ogun State, where the Lebanese couple ─ Joseph and Hala Yasbek ─ were members of the management. 
 
 

ISIS sets new deadline for hostage swap

ISIS has set a Thursday sunset deadline for Jordan to release an Iraqi prisoner or face the death of a captured Jordanian air force pilot, according to the latest threat purportedly issued by the Islamic State group.
 

The audio message, read in English by a voice the Japanese government said was likely that of another hostage, Kenji Goto, was released online late Wednesday after Jordan offered to hand over the al-Qaida-linked would-be suicide bomber to the Islamic State group in exchange for Jordanian air force pilot Lt. Muath al-Kaseasbeh.

The Okoyes, P-Square and the rest of their family will be burying their father, Pa Moses Okoye tomorrow Friday 30th January 2015 at their home town Ifite Dunu, Anambra State.

Pa Moses Okoye passed on November last year.

Boko Haram release shocking photos of child soldiers training camp

Nigeria terror group Boko Haram has released pictures showing more than a dozen children posing with and learning how to aim and shoot with AK-47s.

The images were published online by Al Urwa al Wuthaqa, a media group that has been associated with the insurgents.



Foreign lenders reduce credit facilities to Nigerian banks

Indications have emerged that a number of foreign banks have started suspending short and medium-term credit lines to their Nigerian counterparts as falling crude oil prices continue to fuel exchange rate volatility and uncertainties in the economy.
 
This is coming just as several Nigerian lenders are said to be seeking extension on the settlement of their debt obligations to the foreign banks.
 

Indonesia ready to execute foreigners after rejecting appeal for clemency, one Nigerian among

Indonesia is ready to execute seven foreign drug convicts on death row after their appeals for presidential clemency were rejected, an official said, in a move certain to set Jakarta on a collision course with international allies.
 
They include two Australian leaders of the "Bali Nine" drug-smuggling gang, who have been on death row for almost a decade. The pair lost their appeals in December and earlier this month.
 
 
 

Bird Flu now in 11 States - Fed. Govt

The Federal Government on Wednesday announced that the avian influenza virus, also known as bird flu, is now present in 11 states of the federation.
 
The government confirmed the presence of the virus in Kano, Lagos, Ogun, Delta, Rivers, Edo and Plateau, Gombe, Imo, Oyo and Jigawa states.
 
At a meeting with commissioners of agriculture from the 36 states of the federation, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina,  said the total number of birds exposed had risen to 232,385 and that 51,444 mortalities had been recorded.
 

Lagos State Police struggle to unravel killers of unknown man

The Lagos State Police Command is battling to unravel the killers of a yet-to-be identified man whose corpse was left in the Orile area of Lagos State.
 
The deceased was was said to have been abandoned on Kekere Ekun Street in a pool of blood and with a stab wound.
 

Greek PM: We will no longer submit to the EU


 
 
Greece's new leftist prime minister has said that his government's top priorities are negotiating with creditors to resolve the country's debt problems and that it would no longer blindly submit to the EU.
 
 
Alexis Tsipras said on Wednesday that he wanted a "viable, mutually beneficial solution" to what he called a humanitarian disaster his country has suffered as a result of the austerity imposed by its creditors.

Jimi Agbaje, a tax defaulter - Raji Fashola

The PDP governorship candidate, Mr. Jimi Agbaje has been accused by the governor of Lagos State, Raji Fashola, of defaulting in his civil right to the state by not paying his taxes.
 
Fashola made this disclosure yesterday at the 8th annual Lagos State Taxation stakeholders Conference in Ikeja.


Fashola urged the residents of the state to reject “a serial tax evader” in the forthcoming governorship election.
 
He added that it was irresponsible for any politician seeking public office to evade tax and still claim to be a law-abiding citizen.
