Funsho Adeola loses Dad
Funsho Adeolu is bereaved. He lost his dad. Pa Felix Adeolu Adegeye yesterday
after a brief illness at the age of 77.
Sources said he has decided to take
the death in good faith.
Burial arrangement will be announced
by the family.

Former Nigerian International
goalkeeper, Wilfred Agbonavbare has lost his battle with cancer. The ex-Rayo
Vallecano goalkeeper who had been receiving treatment at a Spanish hospital was
said to have died yesterday January 26th.
Agbonavbare played for New Nigeria Bank F.C. and BCC Lions FC during his active days before moving to Spain in 1990 where he spent the rest of his career.
Sadly, Agbonavbare also lost his wife three years ago to cancer. RIP

At least eight killed as gunmen storm hotel in Libyan capital
Two heavily armed gunmen stormed a luxury
hotel in Tripoli favoured by Libyan officials and visiting delegations on today,
killing at least eight people including four foreigners before blowing
themselves up, authorities said.

her teeth and claws out so she could be kept as a pet. She was also kept in a cramped space in
Tlaquepaque, in the central Western Mexican state of Jalisco.
The animal, christened Madonna, weighed just 88lbs - less than a third of a
normal adult lioness - and had open wounds on her back and legs when she was
found living in a mechanic's workshop in Mexico.

North East coast of America on lockdown, 8000 flights to the North East cancelled, $500 fine on drivers caught on roads (photos)
North East coast of America is presently on lockdown with residents of five states barred from going outside as states of emergency is declared.
The states of emergency was prompted as a storm threatens to dump three feet of snow from New Jersey to Massachusetts.
The metro systems in both New York and Boston are currently shut. Also any driver caught on roads already barred will be made to cough out $500 fine. Bridges and tunnels have also been shut down in the hope of presenting accidents.

IBM to lay-off 110,000 of its workforce
Thousands of jobs are at risk as technology giant IBM is reported to be preparing to
cut a quarter of its workforce in the biggest corporate staff cull in history.
More than
110,000 jobs could disappear worldwide in a major restructuring at the
once-dominant computing goliath – nicknamed ‘Big Blue’.
Some 20,000
are employed by the company in the UK across 24 offices, including sites in
Portsmouth, London, Manchester and Edinburgh.
Students see colleges of education as last option
The Provost, Federal College of Education,
Abeokuta, Ogun State, Dr. Ayodele Ajayi, has said that many students seeking
admission to the nation’s tertiary institutions see colleges of education as
their last option.
He stated this on Monday at a briefing to
announce the college convocation scheduled for Thursday.
According to him, many students who settle
for colleges of education are those who fail to secure admission to
universities and polytechnics.
Kidnappers from Niger Republic demands $100,000 for the release of 15-year-old Nigerian school girl kidnapped

The victim’s
father, Nwaigwe, explained that Precious was kidnapped around Songotedo, in the
Ajah area of Lagos State, where she had boarded a commercial vehicle to her
school in Ikenne, Ogun State.
He said he
never knew his daughter had been abducted until two weeks later when the school
management contacted him to say Precious had not reported in school.
President Goodluck Jonathan and Mohammadu Buhari's presidential campaign billboards pulled down in Ghana
Worried
about the security implications, the government of Ghana has taken down
campaign billboards belonging to the two main Nigerian presidential candidates
which were erected in Accra, the Ghanaian capital.
According
to reports, the order to take down the billboards was given by
Ghana’s national security agency and was carried out over the weekend by
the Accra Metropolitan Assembly.
Both
Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, the APC candidate and Pres. Goodluck Jonathan, the PDP
candidate, had erected billboards and banners in strategic areas in Accra.
According
to reports, the decision to pull down the billboards was
said to have come amid fears by some Ghanaians that their country could be
drawn indirectly into the politics of Nigeria, with security implications,
especially with the Boko Haram terrorists wreaking havoc in Nigeria.
