Two workers trapped at the world Trade Centre building in New York

Fire fighters were today called to rescue two window cleaners that were trapped on a scaffolding nearly 70 storeys above street level at one world trade centre in New York.
 
TV image showed one side of the scaffolding platform dangling at a sharp angle.
 
The building has 104 floors and is 1,776 ft (541 metre) high, making it the tallest building in the Western hemisphere.
 

 
 
 

Ebola Update: America sent Ebola to Africa to punish us, then left my brother to die like a dog - Thomas Eric Duncan's sister

In an interview with MailOnline, grieving Mary Pearson, Thomas Duncan's sister, the Liberian who died of Ebola in the US, said the US invented the Ebola virus to kill Africans.  But deliberately left Duncan to die because they got angry that he brought the disease back to the US.
 
Mary Pearson, 52, said the deadly virus was created as part of an experiment to infect black people and depopulate Africa.
 
She said,  ''You are the ones that sent it to us.  They sent the virus and infected people here.  Then they blamed Liberians for Ebola.  They killed that boy for nothing''.

The ''White widow terrorist'', Samantha Lewthwaite has been shot dead by a sniper in Ukraine

According to UK Daily Mail, the British woman, Samantha Lewthwaite, 30, who had been nicknamed the ''white widow'' have been killed in Ukraine.  She was said to have been gun down by a Russian sniper two weeks ago.  She was fighting as part of the Ukrainian Volunteer Battalion Aider as a sniper.
 
She has been on the most wanted list of the British police for years.  She was last month said to be fighting for the Islamic State of Syria.
 

Potiskum School Bombing Update: Death toll rises to 58

The death toll of victims of the suicide bombing at a Government secondary school in Potiskum, Yobe State on Monday has risen to 58.  While the number of injured victim is now 117.
 
A bomber disguised in school uniform blew himself up as students gathered for morning assembly at the Government Comprehensive Senior Science Secondary School before classes began for the day.

Information gathered have it that Brooklyn Beckham, the first child of Victoria and David Beckham is in the process of signing an academy contract with Arsenal Football Club.
 
Chelsea and Manchester United football clubs are said to have also shown interest in him.  Despites these interest from a number of Barclays Premier League sides, Brooklyn has reportedly opted for Arsenal after impressing coaches in North London.
 
 

President Jonathan unveils new N100 note

President Jonathan today at the presidential villa unveiled a specimen of the new N100 note in celebration of the centenary.

Some of the security features of the note are, retention of Chief Obafemi Awolowo's portrait-in intaglio, raised embossed line for the virtually impaired, QR code etc. 

The new note will be in circulation from 19th December 2014.

Thousands of supposed rented Jonathan's supporters today at the Eagle Square staged a sit-down protest to show their annoyance over the non-payment of the agreed sum of N2000 for each person.
 
Some of the hired supporters said the handlers of the various groups who hired them did not show concern about their welfare despite them having undertaken long journeys to be present at the declaration yesterday.

Female suicide bomber detonated a bomb today at the Federal College of Education Niger State

Information have it that a lone suicide female bomber detonated a bomb today at the Federal College of Education Kontagora Niger State at about 11.45am.

The blast was said to have instantly killed the suicide bomber and left two female students critically injured.

8 lawmakers in Ogun State House of Assembly dumps APC for PDP, SDP

The Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun should currently be having sleepless nights as eight lawmakers on the platform of APC yesterday defected to PDP and SDP.
 
This situation was confirmed by the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Suraj Adekunbi during the house plenary session. 
 
Adekunbi said: “I received a letter announcing the defection of Messers Joseph Adegbesan, Salmon Adeleke, John Obafemi, Remmy Hazzan and Obafemi Olowo-Oloja to the PDP.
 
 
 

Ebola Update: Mali battles to stop the spread of Ebola, as it confirm the death of a second victim due to the Ebola virus

As Mali confirmed the death of a second Ebola patient (a nurse), its priority now is to contain the spread of the terrible disease.
 
The nurse was said to have died after treating a man who arrived at a clinic from Guinea.  The man who was suffering from Kidney failure is believed to have died of the Ebola virus.
 
The Bamako clinic where the man was treated has been quarantined.
 
This is the first Ebola virus contamination within the Malian territory.  The first Ebola patient was a 2-year-old Fanta Conte who was already sick of the Ebola virus before her grand mother brought her into Mali from Guinea. 
 
 

Boko Haram: 13,000 Nigerians crossed over to Cameroon in October as refugees

According to a UN Refugee Agency report, violence by Boko Haram made 13,000 to flee Adamawa State into Cameroon after the insurgents attacked and captured the town of Mubi in October.  The refugees arrived Cameroon in over 300 vehicles.  The Cameroonian authorities were said to have provided escort and security to ensure the safety of those transiting through the Cameroonian territory.
 
 
 

APC governorship aspirant in court for murder

Tola Kasali, 62, a fromer Commissioner for Rural Development and a governorship aspirant on the APC platform was yesterday before the Ebute Meta Chief Magistrate Court, Lagos arraigned on a four counts bordering on murder and unlawful possession of firearms.

Others also standing trial with him are Special Adviser to the Lagos STate governor on Politics and Legislative Matters, Musiliu Folami, 64, and Kasali's Chief Security Officer, Tobun Abiodun, 38.

The police said they conspired and killed one Musiliu Lamidi on November 9, 2014 at Eko Tourism Hotel Akodo, in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos State.
