Arik Airline stranded at the JFK Airport due to Ebola

An Arik Airline flight scheduled to depart the New York's JFK international airport this afternoon was left stranded when the US company contracted to clean the aircraft refused doing so citing fears that the aircraft  could be harbouring the Ebola virus.

Jennifer Lopez: Not ashamed of her three divorces "I am human''

Jennifer Lopez in an interview with the British Mirror said she is not ashamed of her three divorces and past failed relationships.  She said,

''I have gone from relationship to relationship but, at the end of the day, I am not ashamed of the path I have taken or the lessons I have learned,"  "I am who I am and I am human."

"I do what feels right in the moment and right now it feels good to just be on my own and have some 'I love Jennifer' time, which I haven't done a lot in my life," she said. "My friends are constantly trying to set me up but I'm just not there right now. It's not something that's a priority."



Joan Rivers: Cause of her death is Anoxic Encephalopathy

On Thursday, the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner issued a statement that Joan died of lack ofoxygen to the brain.  He said,

"OCME has completed its investigation. The cause of Ms. Rivers' death is anoxic encephalopathy due t
o hypoxic arrest during laryngoscopy and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy with propofol sedation for evaluation of voice changes and gastroesophageal reflux disease. The manner of death is therapeutic complication.

Cross River State APC expels nine of its members


The Cross River State Chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) today expelled nine of their members. 

Those expelled are: Ramsey Ndep; Chris Egbe; Innocent Eneji; James Enyam; Sam Iya; Bassey Ene Ekpo; Anthony Ekpeyong; Onen Obono and Rosemary Onah.  They were accused of dragging the party to court over the June congresses of the party against the provisions of the party’s constitution.  And that all entreaties by party leaders to ensure an out of court settlement of the matter were all ignored.

Heidi Klum's marriage to Seal finally dissolved

The marriage of Heidi Klum and Seal was officially dissolved on Tuesday 14th October 2014.  They got married May 2005, shares four children and separated in January 2012.

In January 2012 the couple both released a joint statement say:

"While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal, and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate. We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition."



US Ebola update: We are ''deeply sorry'' about Ebola mistakes

The Texas hospital that handled Thomas Eric Duncan's case and where two nurses are now down with the Ebola virus has come out to apologise for mistakes made.
 
Dr.Varga agreed that the hospital mishandled the case of Thomas Eric Duncan, an Ebola patient who was sent home several times when he reported at the hospital with full blown symptoms of the Ebola virus.
 
"Unfortunately, in our initial treatment of Mr. Duncan, despite our best intentions and a highly skilled medical team, we made mistakes," Varga, the chief clinical officer for Texas Health Services, said in written testimony to the House Energy and Commerce Committee.


NFF sacks Kesh, picks Amodu as replacement

The Nigeria Football Federation, has relieved Stephen Keshi of his duties as coach of the Super Eagles and replaced him with another former handler, Shuaibu Amodu.

Amodu will lead a consortium of coaches for Nigeria’s final to 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Congo and South Africa.

Fayose moves in as Governor of Ekiti State

Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital was a beehive of activities yesterday in preparation for the inauguration of Ayodele Peter Fayose as the new governor of the state.

A well decorated stage has been created at the centre of the Oluyemi Kayode stadium.  Fayose was said to have vistied the stadium to inspect the level of work.  Top dignitaries including President Goodluck Jonathan, VP. sambo and top members of PDP are expected to grace the occasion.

Policeman slumps, dies during promotion exam at Police College

A Nigerian Police Sargeant identified simply as Lekan reportedly slumped and died during an assessment exercise at the Police College Ikeja Lagos.

Sergeant Lekan who had previously written the promotional examination which took place from Wednesday to Friday last week was expectedly undergoing an assessment test with other police officers assembled on the parade ground awaiting their turn.  The situation turned tragic when |Sergeant Lekan suddenly slumped and efforts to resuscitate him proved abortive.
