Floyd Mayweather bought his son a Bentley on his 15th birthday

Floyd Mayweather recently posted his son's 15th birthday present - A Bentley Golf Cart!  And honestly it is what most 15-year-olds will yearn for as their birthday present.

He wrote on his instagram page that we should all be on the look out for what he will be giving him on his 16th birthday.

Fake DSTV agent arrested by EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arraigned before Justice Fatu Riman, one Tope Ajayi Samuel and his company Sky TV Global Media Limited on a three count charge bordering on conspiracy and intellectual theft.

He is accused of retransmitting signals of DSTV without due authorization.

Aminu Tambuwal suspends Presidential ambition

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal has decided to drop his presidential ambition.
 
In a statement signed and made available to the public, Tambuwal said the decision to suspend his bid was taken after due consultation and consideration of the overall interest of the party.  He said going ahead with such a bid at this time would alter calculations in the political chess board of APC.
 
Tambuwal said when he was given the presidential nomination forms, his personal conviction led him to consult widely.  He said the reasons for this, was not to achieve his personal ambition but rather to actualize a common dream for a new Nigeria.
 
 
 

Atiku Submits presidential forms to his party (APC)

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has returned his expression of interest and the nomination forms ahead of the presidential primaries of the All Progressive Congress.
 
While handing over the forms, Atiku said, ''I want to, therefore, use this opportunity to return the two forms I collected - expression of interest and nomination forms, duly completed.  I want to thank you again for the opportunity.''


Another attempt to bomb Gombe bus station foiled

A man who tried to plant explosives at the headquarters of Gombe Transport Line was today lynched and set on fire by an angry mob who piled used tires on him.
 
The suspect it was learnt carried the bomb in his bag and was waiting to enter the Gombe Motor Park at about 1.00pm.  Due to his suspicious movement, vigilant people at the park accosted him.  Suspicion grew when he refused to open the bag, and tried to walk out of the park.  He was prevented and the bag forcefully searched and the explosives were discovered inside.
 

Man jailed for life, to marry a 26-year-old lady

Charles Manson, 80, who is on life imprisonment for the murder of seven people have been given permission by the authorities to wed his future wife, 26-year-old Afton Elaine Burton.
 
The California prison, where Manson is serving his term approved the ceremony and a wedding co-coordinator have been assigned to them.
 
 

Man kills brother for allegedly looking at his wife

Uneasiness has descended on Umuarlam Community in Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State.  Following the murder of Madukaku Oguh (47) by his elder brother Aligwekwe Oguh.
 
Aligwekwe was said to have butchered his younger brother with a sharp machete  after which he disappeared from the community.
 
According to eye witness report, the deceased had a confrontation with his elder brother and wife.  The assailant's wife, Linda, was said to have accused the deceased of starring at her suspiciously.  This issue led to an argument with Linda raising curses on the deceased.
 

Jerusalem Synagogue attack update, the four dead Rabbis are a Briton and three Americans

It has been confirmed that a British and three American citizens were the four people killed today by two Palestinian terrorists armed with axes and guns who attacked a Synagogue full of worshippers.
 
Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Goldberg, 68, a grandfather, was born in Liverpool and held a dual British-Israeli passport.  He was described by friends as a wonderful person and a pillar of the community.
 
Others killed in the attack are Rabbi Moshe Twersky, Rabbi Avieh Kopinsky, 43, and Rabbi Calman Levine, all Americans.

Four dead in Taliban suicide attack in Kabul

A Taliban suicide bomber and two gunmen targeted a foreigners' compound in Kabul earlier today, killing four people. 

The attack started with a small, explosives-laden truck ramming the gate of the compound housing foreigners on the city's eastern outskirts.  Once the gate was destroyed, the gunmen attempted to break into the compound.  Two Afghan security guards were among the four people killed, said the ministry. Three civilians were also wounded in the attack.

 

 

Plane crash in Chicago, Pilot condition unknown

A crash involving a single-engine plane crashed into a home in Chicago at about 2.45am (2.45am GMT).  And the pilot's condition is unknown.
 
The Aero Commander 50, a cargo plane crashed about a quarter mile from its departing runway according to Elizabeth Corey, Spokeswoman for Federal Aviation Administration.

Four worshippers killed, as terrorists attack a Jerusalem Synagogue

Two Palestinians attacked a Synagogue where worshippers were praying with knives, axes and guns, leaving four persons dead and six others injured including two police officers.
 
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said Israel will retaliate.  He called the attack ''a cruel murder of Jews who came to pray and were killed by despicable murderers'.''
 
Police spokesperson said the attackers were Palestinians from East Jerusalem.  Tension is currently brewing in Jerusalem over series of attacks by the Palestinians against the Israelis.
 





70-year-old man arrested for attempting to steal N42million worth of shares

Adebola Asiwaju, 70, is currently being interrogated by the EFCC for attempting to fraudulently sell shares worth N42million belonging to one Olalere Sunday Oladosu.
 
Adebola is alleged to be a member of a syndicate who specialises in fraudulently selling unsuspecting investors shares.
 
Spokesperson for the EFCC, Wilson Uwajaren, said the suspect forged documents and opened an account with the assumed name of ''Olalere Sunday Oladosu'' with a new generation bank.

Habitual car snatcher napped by the police

Alhaji Kabiru Akorode, 42, told the police that he has lost count of the number of stolen vehicles he has sold.

Kabiru who was arrested by the state operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in his residence at NEPA Quarters Ishashi, Lagos is a native of Kwara State.

He is said to be a member of an eight-man robbery gang who specialise in snatching exotic cars, changing their fittings and selling them.

On September 12, 2014, they robbed one Albert Omisore of his Toyota Prado vehicle marked, AAA690 BH at Victoria Island.  Akorede who was traced by SARS to his residence had already changed the windscreen and the headlights of the vehicle.





Police said, Akorede who has a case before an Ikeja Magistrate Court for stealing is an unrepentant criminal.  That he was previously arrested earlier in the year.
 
In an interview with Punch, Akorede, who said he went on a pilgrimage to Mecca in 2010, confessed that although he started selling stolen vehicles barely a year ago, he could not recall the number of the vehicles he had sold.
 
He said, “I was working as a building engineer until 2013. I started receiving stolen cars last year. It was a friend, one Dada, who introduced me to the gang. Since I started with them, I used to sell the stolen vehicles along the Ile Zik area in Lagos.
 
 “I cannot recall the number of the vehicles I collected, but they may not be less than 20. There were about three Toyota Highlander which I sold for N1.2m each. I also got four Toyota Camry, which I sold for N600,000 each.”
 
Akorede, who is married with two children, said that while the court granted him bail, Ogbu called him that the gang wanted to dispose a Toyota Prado, and the vehicle was brought to his place.
 
He said, “I decided to work on the vehicle so that I could conveniently resell it. It is true that I changed the fittings. I gave Moses N250,000 for the vehicle. I did this because I desperately needed money.”
 
 Lagos State Police Public relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu confirmed the case and said investigation is on-going.
 
 
 

States of emergency extended in Yobe, Adamawa and Bornu states

President Goodluck Jonathan has extended the state of emergency imposed on Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states in the North-East of the country, following more deadly attacks perpetrated by the Boko Haram insurgents in the area.
The decision to extend the measure was taken at a meeting of the National Defence Council (NDC) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja yesterday.
This would be the third time state of emergency will be extended; first, in November 2013 and May this year.  The state of emergency was first declared May 13, 2013 in the three states after a series of deadly attacks by insurgents.
 

Kehinde Oshadipe takes custody of late sister's son

Kehinde Oshadipe who lost her twin sister Taiwo to the cold hands of death has decided and moved on with life.  She is said to have also put every arrangement in place to adopt the son her late sister left behind.

It will be recalled that Taiwo gave birth to a son before her death.

INEC gives the green light for electoral campaign to start

INEC have given the presidential and national assembly aspirants the go ahead to commence their campaigns from November 16, 2015.  While that of governorship and state house of assembly will start theirs from 30 November 2015.
 
This action is in line with the electoral timetable released by the commissions and in keeping with the 90 days provision.
 
The Chief Press Secretary of the Commission, Kayode Idowu, yesterday in Abuja while commenting on the issue affirmed the fact that the commission had put every arrangement  in place for the monitoring of the elections.
