125 suspects with no link to Boko Haram released by Army

Nigerian Army today released another 125 persons arrested for allegedly having links with the fundamentalist Boko Haram sect.  This development follows an earlier release of 42 persons who were investigated and found to be having no link with the fundamentalist group.

 

The 42 persons were released on Thursday to Governor Kashim Shettima.  Handling over the new set of 125 persons to the Borno state governor, the spokesman of the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Maiduguri, Col. Sani Usman said 254 persons were intercepted fleeing from the state after attack on Boko Haram strongholds in September.

 

He said the arrest was made in Biu on September 23 and after proper investigation 125 men now handed to the governor were found to have no link with Boko Haram.

 

Man stole £250,000 worth of valuable, left behind his mobile phone with a selfie as the screen saver

A thief who stole jewelleries worth £250,000 on May 18th was caught after he forgot his mobile phone at the scene of the crime with a selfie as a screen saver.

Germaine Ibrahim Fofana, 27, a New York native, with an American father and mother from Ivory Coast blew the money gambling.

 

 

 

 

He entered the shop with a lady who had a baby in a buggy claiming to be looking for an engagement ring.  He left but returned 30 minutes later asking to see the rings again to enable him compare the designs.  Only for him to grab them and ran out of the shop.

Washington High School shooting, 5th teenager dies

A fifth teenager has died as a result of the Washington State High School shooting of two weeks ago, that started when a student opened fire on fellow students in the school cafeteria.

 

15-year-old Andrew Fryberg died of wounds as a result of the shooting.  He was the last wounded victim that was still hospitalized.

 

Last Thursday, 14-year-old Nate Hatch was released from Harborview and taken home.  He was shot in the jaw.

Man drunk rides train naked

The man in the picture was obviously drunk.  He was seen riding on an E-Train naked save for a pair of sneakers and socks.  The drunk took slugs from a jug of Jack Daniels in between catnaps during the night right on a South board train.

He was said to have rode on the train from Fifth Avenue, 53rd street to 23rd street.

Observers said the drunkard did not seem homeless, didn't smell bad and was sporting a fresh faux-hawk haircut.   LOL!

         

Two US citizens jailed in North Korea freed, on their way home

Kenneth Bae and Matthew Miller were today freed by the North Korean authorities and are presently being accompanied home to the US by James Clapper, US Director of National Intelligence.

Mr. Bae, a Korean-American Missionary had been detained since November 2012, while Mr. Miller had been in prison since April.

Head driver to Nasarawa State Governor assasinated

Unknown gunmen this morning assassinated the Nasarawa State Governor's head driver, Abdullahi Mairuwa.  He was in charge of all drivers attached to the government house, Lafia.

He was said to have been shot at close range in the presence of his wife.  The late Abdullahi who was on his way to his home town in Keane Local Government Area of the state was killed along the Obi-Keane-Awe road at about 8.30am today.

The killers who were said to have shot him twice on the chest told his wife not to panic that they were just after her husband.

His body has since been taken to his home town for burial.

2 million people to visit Berlin to celebrate 25 years of the fall of the Berlin Wall

It is estimated that about two million people will visit Berlin to celebrate 25 years since the wall was torn down by revolution protesters.

To mark this historic event, the borders between West and East has been lit up by 8,000 glowing balloons.  This eight mile stretch of the former border will be lit up until dusk on Sunday when they will be released into the sky.

Saudi Arabia places strict restrictions on female driving despite lifting the ban

Saudi Arabia have moved a step closer to lifting its ban on female drivers despite the strict restriction it places on them.

 

Under the new recommendations, only women of 30-years and above are allowed to drive within a stipulated set time.  And such female would need permission from a male relative usually husband, father, brother or son.

An Osogbo Grade II Customary Court in Osun State has dissolved the 17-year-old marriage between Opeyemi Jimoh and her husband Mudashiru.

 

Opeyemi who approached the court for the dissolution of the union cited series of complaints against her husband.

 

She said,  “He is always creating problems for me by inflicting me with different sicknesses which make me unhappy. One of such occasions is when I menstruated for a whole year. I left his house in December 2013 and since then, he has stopped caring about me and our children because the children are with me,” she also told the court that both of them had since remarried other partners.

Victoria Beckham went shopping in Paris looking stylish and chic (photos)

Victoria is indeed one of the stylish women we have in the world.

 

Yesterday, the 40-year-old mother of four arrived at the Gare du Nord station, alone, and did some shopping around Paris.  She was looking as chic as ever in her own version of  ''casual day dressing''.

 

She had on a vibrant red trousers and a mid length black coat as well as her trademarks large framed glasses.

 

Victoria carried a black tote bag and had on a naturally toned down makeup.   She later had lunch at the L'Avenue restaurant to complete her day.  But instead of the tote bag, she now had a black skin clutch bag.

Kim and her husband Kanye West caused a stir yesterday as they went for Lunch at the Cipriani Restaurant.

 

The fashionista who was as beautiful as ever, came out dressed in a white knit turtleneck sweater with a tight grey midi-skirt that had a thigh-high split.  She also had on a long grey coat, pointed grey heels and accessorised her outfit with glittering stud earrings and a brown YSL clutch purse.

 

Our own boy, 37-year-old Kanye complimented his wife's dressing with a grey top, faded charcoal jeans and  brown suede shoes.

Robin Williams suicide triggered by Depression, Parkinson and Paranoia

It has been revealed from the Coroner's report that Robin Williams struggled with Parkinson, anxiety, depression and paranoia before he committed suicide.  It was also found out that he had four drugs in his system as at the time of his death.

 

The 63-year-old actor committed suicide August 11, by hanging himself with a belt in his Marin County home.

The Okija shrines are back again

I thought the security agencies destroyed all these shrines in 2004?  So they are still existing? Anyway!

 

There is a supremacy battle presently going on at the dreaded Okija shrines in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State between the priests of the shrines and the youths in the area.   The shrine priests are accusing the youths of hijacking their shrines and parading themselves as priests of Ogwugwu- Aku and Ogwugwu-Isi and duping innocent Nigerians who visit these shrines.
