Farmers to donate 5 millon tubers of yam to raise 5 billon naira towards Buhari's campaign

A group of farmers across the northern states of the country have pledged to support the APC Presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari to raise five billion naira by donating 5 million tubers of yam.

Rev. Jacob Musa, Public Relation Officer (PRO) of the farmers states that the presentation of the 5 million tubers of yam would hold at the Mararaban Demshin Village Yam Market in Qua'an Local Government Area of Plateau State on January 4, 2015.

Woman accidentally shot and killed by 2-year-old in Walmart Store

A two-year-old boy has accidentally shot and killed a 29-year-old woman in an American supermarket.

 

Reports from the US said the gun went off when the toddler pulled a handgun from the woman's purse and fired it accidentally.

 

The woman had been shopping with four children in the Walmart store in Idaho and was in the shop's electronics department when the tragedy happened.

Nathan Lloyd, 22, took revenge on his ex for jilting him by posting a photograph of her posing in her underwear on her own instagram and then changed the password so she could not remove the picture.

 

Prosecutors also heard that Nathan also posted a video of some sort of sexual nature onto her page.

 

Nathan admitted breaking the Telecommunications Act by posting the image and video and is awaiting sentencing later at Haverford West Magistrates Court.

4 killed in a foiled military coup in Gambia

At least four people have been killed in the Gambia's capital, Banjul, as government forces foiled an alleged coup plot against President Yahya Jammeh.
 

According to reports, some armed men led by former State House Commander, Lt Colonel Lamin Sanneh, invaded the country from neighbouring Senegal and attacked the presidential palace in Banjul and the military post at the Denton Bridge, which links Banjul to the southern part of the country.

22-year-old school dropout arrested for killing his father

22-year-old Oluwaropo Tifase is currently being interrogated by the Lagos State Police Command over allegation that he killed his father.

According to Punch, Oluwaropo, who is the fifth child and only son of the family, had had clashes with his parents in the past over financial issues.

According to the police, Oluwaropo, a suspected cultist, was rusticated from a university in Ondo State, a few years ago for some cult-related offences.

It was gathered that 75-year-old Moses, a retired mechanical engineer, was stabbed to death in the neck with a pair of scissors.

Missing Air Aisa flight QZ8501 forund, 40 bodies recovered from the Java sea

Rescue workers searching for the missing Air Asia flight QZ8501 have recovered at least 40 bodies from the Java sea, said the Indonesian authority.

Also recovered are luggage, plane door and an emergency slide found floating in the water 100 miles off the coast of Borneo Island.

Officials have confirmed that the debris and the bodies recovered are from the Air Asia flight.

The APC Presidential aspirant in the next 2015 general election, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari has informed the Independent National Electoral Commission that his academic qualifications and credentials are with the military.

 

Checks at the headquarters of the commission on Monday in Abuja revealed that Buhari’s academic qualifications were not on display, unlike those of other Presidential candidates, including President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party.
