Boko Haram threatens to kill Emir of Kano, Muhummadu Sanusi II

Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Boko Haram has threatened to attack the Emir of Kano, Muhummadu Sanusi II in retaliation for the calling by the Emir to residents and other Nigerians to defend themselves.
 
In a new video that was released on Saturday, the leader of the sect said Sanusi was not a true moslem.

 At a brief ceremony held at the national secretariat of APC in Abuja to publicly unveil Osinbajo, Buhari stated he chose Osibanjo as his running mate based on his impeccable integrity.


He stated that the process of chosing his running mate was both meticulous and rigorous.

The pictures were released by the Taliban spokesman, Mohammad Khurasani, it shows 6 men, heavily armed with a white Islamic flag.

In an email which he released today, he tried to justify the attack y saying the Pakistani army had for long been killing Talibans and their families.  He said they plan more attacks and advised Pakistanis to distant themselves from military institutions.


 

10 killed, 2 abducted in Borno after Boko Haram attack

Gunmen suspected to be members of dreaded Boko Haram terrorists Wednesday waylaid motorists in Madari village of Kukawa local government area of Borno state, killing 10 people, while a young aged woman and her two years old child were abducted.


Man arrested in Kaula Lumpur International Airport, suspected to be heading to Syria to join ISIS

A 39-year-old Malaysian man was arrested on today at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport before he could head to Syria to join the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).  The man’s plan was to fly to Turkey after transiting in Brunei.
 
The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Khalid said, "The suspect was detained at about 5.30am this morning. "He had planned to fly to Brunei and then to Turkey before booking a passage to Syria," he told a press conference today.

It was the end of road for a fraudster on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 when Justice Dije Aboki of the Kano State High Court, Kano convicted and sentenced one Ibrahim Hassan popularly known as Comptroller Kangiwa, to ten (10) years and six months imprisonment without option of fine in a case of conspiracy, personation and obtaining by false presence instituted against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Buhari calls Pastor Adeboye, seek his blessings for the forth coming 2015 presidential election

Gen. Muhammadu Buhari today called the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye to seek his blessing for the 2015 presidential election.  He also used the opportunity to inform Pastor Adeboye that he has chosen Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as his running mate.

Prof. Osinbanjo is a pastor in Redeem and also a close confidant of Pastor Adeboye.


EFCC takes nine persons to court for illegal dealing in petroleum products

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today at a Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State arraigned nine persons for offences bordering on illegally dealing in petroleum products.
 
Clement Oguntuwase, Joseph Obie, Ifeoluwa Albert, Adams Amzat Akokhia, Isaac Ndidi Chima, Rafiu Momodu, Rasaq Mahmud, Godwin George, and Thomas Daniel were arraigned before Justice Lambo Akanbi on a 2-count charge of conspiracy and illegal dealing in petroleum products.
 
 

Armed robbers to banks in Okigwe, Imo State, we are coming for our Christmas gifts

Banks in Okigwe town, Imo State have been shut for the past 2 weeks.  This is as a result of threats letters they got from armed robbers telling them that they will be coming to raid them and collect their Christmas gifts.
 
Reports stated that as soon as soldiers who were drafted to the town to curb kidnapping cases were recalled back, security situation in the town deteriorated.
 
 

27-year-old jumped to death from moving vehicle

A 27-year-old woman, Lucy Gbagyo, has died after jumping from a speeding commercial bus in the Shogunle area of Lagos State.
 
The Benue State indigene was said to have been on her way to visit her fiancé, Philip Nguhwa to enable them discuss preparations for their wedding which was to have come up on Februar7 17, 2015.  The two have courted for four years.

Professor Yemi Osinbajo is Buhari's running mate

General Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) today selected Law Professor Yemi Osinbajo as his running mate for vice president.
 
Osinbajo’s nomination was concluded last night after APC national leader, bola Tinubu, was asked to shelf his ambition that nearly tore the party apart.
 
An early morning meeting between Ogun state governor, Ibikunle Amosun and  Buhari  finally resolved the acrimonious logjam in the party.
 
 
Osinbajo beat other potential candidates that reportedly included Governor of rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, Governor Adams Oshiuomhole of Edo State, and former Lagos Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora
 
The APC will make the final announcement in a short while.

Tinubu snubs Buhari, wants to be Vice President

According to Sahara Reporter, former governor of Lagos State, Ahmed Tinubu has refused to see reasons by presenting a Muslim/Muslim ticket might not augur well for the overall interest of the APC.
 
Tinubu has refused to nominate any other name for the Vice President position stating that he is personally interested in becoming the Vice President of Nigeria.  The national leader of the APC last shunned a general caucus meeting of the party in Abuja because of hostility by state governors in the party towards his ambition.
 
 

DSS arrest and parades ex-aide to Borno Governor and six allies of Australian negotiator Stephen Davies

An aide to the Borno State Governor, Juniad Khadi and other six close associates of Australian self-styled negotiator, Stephen Davis were arrested and paraded yesterday by the Department of State Security Service.
 
The seven were arrested in connection with organising a fake cease fire agreement between the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Boko Haram insurgents.  The suspects were said to have collected millions of naira from the Federal Government while giving the impression that they were members of the dreaded sect interested in a ceasefire.
