Rare photos of Osama Bin Laden's hideout in the Afghan mountains before 9/11

Rare photos have emerged of the primitive and isolated compound Osama Bin Laden lived in until a Western bombing campaign forced him to flee. 

The images resurfaced last month during the terrorism conspiracy trial in New York of Al Qaeda lieutenant Khaled al-Fawwaz, a communications conduit for the terrorist organisation in London in the mid-1990s.

 

They were taken by Palestinian journalist Abdel Barri Atwan, who was invited to the hideout in 1996 as part of Bin Laden's ploy to spread his message of hate to the Western world.

Fox News has hired the former Navy SEAL who is believed to have shot and killed Osama Bin Laden as a contributor. 

Former Team Six leader Rob O'Neill will offer military expertise and analysis across various daytime and primetime programs, the network announced.

The decorated ex-solider, who has been involved in more than 400 combat missions and deployed a dozen times, was profiled in the channel's documentary The Man Who Killed Osama Bin Laden, last year. 

He is said to have fired the shots that killed the Al Qaeda leader and 9/11 mastermind during a raid on his compound in May 2011. 

Spanish Language TV host sacked for stating that First Lady Michelle Obama looks like she is from the cast of ''The Planet of The Apes''

An Emmy-winning talk show host has been fired by Spanish-language TV station Univision after he compared the First Lady to a character from Planet Of The Apes on live television.

Rodner Figueroa, who's known for his biting fashion commentary, made the racially insensitive remark on the entertainment news show El Gordo Y La Flaca on Wednesday.

Venezuelan-born Figueroa made the remark in a segment discussing the work of make-up artist Paolo Ballesteros who posts photos of himself transformed into female celebrities.

A man rushed to hospital for a kidney transplant has spoken of the dilemma he faced after learning the donor organ could be infected with HIV.
 

Tony Gartside had waited four years for a donor organ before he finally got the call to say a kidney and pancreas had become available.
 

The transplant window was so small that after putting the phone down at 3am, he was rushed from his home in Plymouth to Oxford for the operation. 
 

But upon arriving, he was told that the organs had come from the victim of a drugs overdose - and it would be two weeks before tests revealed if they were HIV free.

A childhood friend of Pope Francis has claimed that the Pope intends to overturn the centuries-old ban on Catholic priests from getting married and that he told a divorcee 'living in sin' that she could receive Holy Communion.

The Pope considers the law on priestly celibacy 'archaic' and 'not part of the doctrine of the Church', according to the confidante.

"I asked the saleswoman -- who was also black like me -- 'Could you show me that watch please?'

"First, I saw her turn and look at her coworkers like, 'Uh, what should I do?'

"Eventually, she let me see the watch. I looked at it and said, 'OK, I'll buy it.'

Hundreds of witchdoctors rounded up in Tanzania crackdown after series of killings of albinos

Over 200 people have been arrested in Tanzania as part of a nationwide crackdown on witchdoctors linked to a wave of albino attacks and murders, police said on Thursday. Police arrested 225 unlicensed traditional healers and soothsayers during a special operation carried out in several parts of the east African country and due to be extended to all 30 regions.

 

“Some of those arrested were found in possession of items like lizard skin, warthog teeth, ostrich eggs, monkey tails, bird claws, mule tails and lion skin,” said police spokesperson, Advera Bulimba. Bulimba said the police campaign would target the entire network of gangsters, traders and witchdoctors.

Horror! as woman commuter fell under a London Underground train today!

 
Rush-hour commuters were left screaming and in tears today when a passenger fell under a London Underground train - apparently after her coat became stuck in the doors.

Firefighters, police and paramedics raced to Clapham South station in south London just after 8am after the woman fell from what was described by travellers as an ‘overcrowded’ platform.  She was taken to St George's Hospital with ‘non-life-threatening injuries’, but the incident led to huge queues for buses as Northern line services between Kennington and Morden were paralysed.

Wife calls for dissolution of her marriage after husband impregnated a mad woman

 

For reportedly impregnating a mentally sick woman, a housewife, Mrs Titi Kareem, has dumped her husband, Mr Rafiu Kareem.

However, it was learnt that the mentally sick woman later died due to pregnancy-related complications in Lagos State.

As a result of the public outcry over the act, the 13-year-old marriage has crashed as the wife who could not withstand the shame moved out of her matrimonial home at Igando Road, Ikotun, Lagos.

Mrs Kareem also filed a suit before a Customary Court sitting in Ejigbo area of the state, seeking for the dissolution of the marriage.
