12-year-old girl steals diamond necklace worth over $6million in Hong Kong

Hong Kong police are searching for a 12-year old girl who has allegedly made off with a $6million  diamond necklace stolen during a robbery at a luxury jewellery shop on Saturday.

 

According to the South China Morning Post, two women and a man and the young girl entered the Emperor Jewellery Shop at the 1882 Shopping Centre in Tsmin Sha Tsui before 3pm.

 

The adults apparently distracted the store’s staff while the girl stole a key from the drawer, opened a cabinet display, and slipped the 100-carat gold necklace, embedded with over 30 diamonds, into her pocket.  She was caught on CCTV footage calmly walking out of the mall.

 

Turkey orders Facebook to block pages that insult Prophet Mohammed

Turkey has moved to block several Facebook pages considered insulting to the Prophet Mohammed. A Turkish court ordered Facebook to close the offending pages in a ruling handed down Sunday,  threatening to block access to the social network if it doesn't comply.

 

The ruling comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East over this month's attacks on the offices of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, which appears to have been motivated, in part, by the publication's depictions of the Prophet Mohammed.

 

Nigerian Queen Celestine won Miss Congeniality at the Miss Universe Pageant

The Miss Universe Pageant which took place last night at Florida was won by Miss Colombia, Pauline Vega.

 

Our own Queen Celestine won the Miss Congeniality.  This is an award given  to the most friendly and helpful contestant out of all contestants.

 

 

 

Pretty and pregnant Omawunmi to marry her baby daddy in a tradition marriage in April

Pretty and pregnant Omawunmi will be getting married traditionally in April to her baby daddy Tosin Yusuf.

The engagement/traditional marriage will take place at Omawunmi's family compound in Delta State.

The two already had their registry marriage at the Ikoyi registry.

Church of England appoints Libby Lane as first female bishop

The first female bishop has been ordained by the Church of England during a ceremony at York Minster that was interrupted by a protesting vicar.

Libby Lane, 48, became the new Bishop of Stockport following legislation adopted last year to allow female bishops for the first time since the Church's foundation by King Henry VIII in 1534.

Malaysia Airline website hacked

Malaysia Airlines’s website has been hacked by a group that posted a message proclaiming support for the Islamic State militant group.

 

The airline’s site was changed on Monday, at first with a message saying “404 - Plane Not Found” and “Hacked by Cyber Caliphate.” The browser tab for the website said, ‘’ISIS will prevail.”

 

Miss Colombia is crowned Miss Universe 2015

Miss Colombia, Paulina Vega has been crowned Miss Universe 2015. 

 

Vega beat 87 other contestants to ultimately take home the crown at the 63^rd annual pageant. 

 

The 22-year-old is currently studying business administration in college and comes from a large family -- she has eight brothers and sisters.

Former Super Eagle assistant coach and U-17 handler Musa Abdullahi is dead

A former Super Eagles assistant coach and U-17 handler,  Musa Abdullahi, is dead.

Aged 61, Abdullahi died of malaria-related illness at about 2 p.m. on Sunday in his Lokoja home in Kogi.  He was said to have been battling with stroke for the past 5 years.

His second daughter, Salamatu Abdullahi, said that the late coach was buried according to Islamic rites at about 5 p.m.

 

Two 12-year-old girls killed by suspected ritualists in Ondo State

Two young girls have reportedly been killed in the farm by suspected ritualists at Iju in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The community has subsequently been thrown into mourning, following death of the two girls, identified as Oyinkansola Owoeye and Folasade Bello

 

Police sources stated that both girls, aged 12, reportedly went to the farm to fetch firewood but never returned.

Strong indication from Abeokuta, Ogun State has it that the former Speaker of House of Representative, Dimeji Bankole has moved his political structure from PDP to the Labour Party in the state so as to be able to achieve his ambition of becoming the Ogun State governor after February 14, 2015.

 

The father of the former Speaker, Chief Alani Suarau Bankole, was said to have held a closed-door meeting with the leaders of the LP last week at his Onikolobo residence, in Abeokuta.

John Kerry, the US Secretary of State who was in Nigeria few days ago has come out to say the US will hit hard on anybody who was found to have caused any form of violence before, during or after the forth coming February 14 elections.

 

John Kerry also stated that his country is investing enormously to ensure credible elections in Nigeria.

 

Kerry made this statement at a news conference in Lagos, shortly after meeting with both the presidential candidate of PDP, President Goodluck Jonathan and that of APC, Major General Mohammed Buhari.

 

A 22-year-old who allegedly killed his father has removed his testicles while in police cell

Oluwaropo Tifase, the university dropout who was accused of killing his 75-year-old father, Moses, in the Jakande Estate, Mile 2 area of Lagos State, has removed his testicles while in the custody of the police.

 

Twenty-two-year-old Oluwaropo, during a chat at the Lagos Island General Hospital, where he was rushed to for treatment, said he acted under the influence of a spirit which possessed him at the time.

 

A man and his wife lead gang to rob residents

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a gang of armed robbers, including a couple, who allegedly went to rob in an estate at Abule Lemode in the Ijoko area of the state.

 

It was gathered that the four suspects ─ Amache and Seun Augustine, Taiwo Dada and Ezekiel Alawode ─ were apprehended while allegedly robbing at Santos Crescent, Araromi Estate.  They were reportedly arrested at about 9.30pm on Saturday, January 17.

 

The couple rented apartment
