I went to Saudi Arabia to beg for alms - Kano State street begger

Street beggars in Kano State has called on their state government to help them quit begging by proving them with means of livelihood to sustain them and their family.
 
One of the beggar, Malam Bada Mazi Bilya said he travels weekly from his village Wudil in Kano to Kano city to beg for alms so as to be able to take care of his family. A female beggar amongst them said she resulted to begging after the death of her husband.
 
Another young beggar, Usman Baba, explained that he went to Saudi Arabia to beg for alms but was deported by the Saudi authorities. "I cannot survive without begging because I don’t have a skill or capital to start a business. "My friends said the state government provides generators, tables, chairs and an amount of money for beggars to start phone-charging business. "But it is better if the government can take me somewhere to learn a skill than to give me a generator because if I am given, I will sell it,’’
 
 

Ekiti State: Governor Fayose sacks 35 Local Government Chairmen with immediate effect

In a press release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor Mr. Idowu Adelusi, made available to NAN in Ado Ekiti; all 35 Local Government Chairmen along with their secretaries and all other care take committees are relieved of their appointment with immediate effect.

Also dissolved are all boards of parastetal, agencies and commissions.


Pastor rapes a 19-year old lady while carrying out spiritual cleansing

A rapist pastor identified as Anthony Arogunmasa is currently in the police net in Ekiti State for allegedly raping a 19-year old lady.
 
The girl when interview said that Arogunmasa lured her into his residence under the pretence of giving her spiritual cleansing.  She state:   I was just meeting the pastor for the first time in my life. He approached me and told me that I needed some spiritual cleansing. He said that God instructed him to ensure that the spiritual cleansing was done for me. I fell for him because I saw people calling him pastor. He took me to his house and gave me a candle and soap and asked me to start praying. He also brought out certain ob­jects which he said were prayer items for the spiritual cleansing. In the course of the prayers, he asked me to remove my cloth­ing and just tie a wrapper and I obliged. It wasn’t long after that he suddenly jumped on me and eventually had carnal knowl­edge of me forcefully.”

In 2008 Missy Elliot, 43 years, was diagnosed with Graves disease, an autoimmune illness that affects the thyroid.

For calling Venus and Serena 'The Williams brothers" 'Tennis President fined $25,000

The Russian Tennis Federation President Shamil Tarpischev has been asked to pay a fine of $25,000 for referring to Venus and Serena as the Williams brothers on a TV chat show.  He also received one year ban from getting involve in the tennis women's tour

The Chief Executive of the Russian Women Tennis Association, Stacy Allastar said the comments were insulting and demeaning.  That Mr. Tarpischev's comments questions their gender and tarnishes the image of the great game.

Dave Haggerty, President of the United State Tennis Association called on Mr. Tarpischev to tender an apology to the Williams sisters.

Gulder Ultimate Search evicts Sandra and Ikenna

For two people in the Gulder Ultimate Search, their dream of  finding the general's war helmet, going home with the ultimate price of N10m and a brand new SUV has come to an end.

Ikenna and Sandra are the latest two to be evicted from the Gulder Ultimate Search ''The Mission'' after remaining at the bottom of the table for several days.

Sandra who complained of her partner said,

 ''Since we became partner, it hasn't been going on well, its taking time for him to pick up and you can't push him more than that.  Its so unfortunate that two of us are team mates; I cant help it, I am trying my best but if he goes down, I go down with him''

Man eaten by bear after suffering a heart attack

A California man was eaten by a wild black bear, after likely suffering from heart attack, officials said
 
Humboltdt County Deputy Coroner Roy Horton said he believes 65-year-old Marion Williams died in front of his trailer in a remote area before the bear found him.  The man's remain was discovered on Monday after friends reported he had been missing for five days.  An investigation into Williams' death showed no evidence of an attack.  Officers believes the bear came across Williams' body and dragged it into its den.

"It looks like he collapsed and died," Horton said. "The bear comes along and sees a potential food source."


Ebola Scare: Woman who travelled to Liberia vomits outside US Defence HQ

There was pandemonium outside the Pentagon last night after a woman who recently visited Africa vomited outside the security building.

The woman believed to have travelled to Liberia in recent weeks got sick and vomited near the America Department of Defence Complex as she got off the bus on her way to attend a Marine Corps ceremony.

Emergency personnel dressed in hazmat suits were later seen taking her to the Inova Fairfax Hospital.


Cannabis eating sheep left high after eating through 4000 pounds worth of drugs

According to the UK Mirror a flock of sheep were left woolly headed after getting high feasting on the wrong type of grass.  The animals were seen stumbling around after eating through seven bags of intoxicating cannabis dumped in their farm.

The farm manager said she is not aware who dumped the drugs in the farm.

She said: "At first I thought it was someone's hedgerow rubbish. I went down to collect the bags so the sheep weren't eating black plastic.  "When I got there I realised it was a form of herbal cannabis plant. They were very strong in scent.  I have no idea how they got there. It's right next to a road and the footpath is quite open."

Innocent Idibia popularly called Tuface in a chat with Saturday Beats said he does not hesitate to refer desperate female fans, who do not want to respect his marriage to his unmarried male friends.

“When I meet a female fan who is being unnecessarily familiar with me, I just greet her and move on with my life. If she is still being persistent, I would tell her that what she is looking for she cannot have. Then I introduce her to any of my single friends that is around,” he said.


Boko Haram ceasefire: 218 Chibok girls to gain freedom on Monday

The Federal Government through the Nigerian military on Friday said it had entered a ceasefire agreement with the dreaded Boko Haram sect.  With this, there are strong indications that the Chibok girls who were abducted over six months ago from their school might be released by Monday.

The ceasefire deal was announced to the nation by the Chief of Defence staff, Air Marshall Alex Badeh. 

The government spokes person said the agreement was reached after one month of negotiation led by the Chadian President Idriss Deby in Saudi Arabia.
