President Jonathan Nominates Obanikoro and Six Others as Ministers


President Goodluck Jonathan has forwarded the names of seven new ministers to the Senate for confirmation according to African Independent Television [AIT].
Among the nominees are a former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, Kenneth Kobani, a former National Treasurer of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria [ACN], who recently defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, and a former Senator, Patrick Akwashiki.

Kim K flashes cleavage in a zip-up bodice, wows in huge diamond earrings

Kim attended Sam Smith's concert in Los Angeles last night.  And the reality star acme dressed in a tight zip-up bodice which showed off lots of her cleavage.
 
The 34-year-old completed her look with a large flowing trousers and open toed stilettos.  Her hair was pulled back into a tight pony tail with a set of enormous diamond earrings to complete the look.
 
Probably due to the heaviness of the earrings, she later removed them.
 
 
 

Show your Land Use Charge receipts - Fashola to Jimi Agbaje


If you recall, some days ago, the governor of Lagos State, Raji Fashola said the governorship candidate of the PDP, Jimi Agbaje should not be seeking election to be governor of Lagos State because he has refused to perform his civic obligation to Lagos State by refusing to pay his Land Use Charge (LUC). 
 
But Jimi Agbaje’s camp replied Fashola saying Fashola and other APC chieftains are merely after him because they can no longer stand the heat.

Jordan has sent a strong message to ISIS saying they will fast-track the execution of a would-be suicide bomber, Sajida al-Rishawi and other jailed ISIS commanders in Jordanian prison if ISIS goes ahead and kill captured 26-year-old pilot Al-Kaseasbeh.
 
The warning came after the deadline of Thursday at sunset  possible prisoner swap set by ISIS passed.

Two secondary school pulpils who went to pluck fruits found floating on Osun river

 
The residents of the Ijetu area of Osogbo have been thrown into mourning following the discovery of the corpses of two pupils on the Osun River.
It was gathered that a woman had gone to the river to fetch water when she found the corpses of the two pupils floating on the river.
A resident of the area told our correspondent on Thursday that the woman dropped her bucket and ran back to the community where she raised the alarm.

D’banj according to NETng said he has been under immerse pressure from his mother to settle down.  He said he has thought about it and feels this year is the right time to marry and settle down.  He also said he intend to have a koko junior (baby) also this year.


‘Yes, I was under pressure towards the end of last year to get married, my mum really wanted it,’ he said.

Scientists says the Ebola virus is mutating and could become more contagious


 
Scientists tracking the spread of the Ebola in West Africa have warned the virus is showing signs of mutating, and could become more contagious.
 
A team of researchers from the Institute Pasteur in France first identified the outbreak in Guinea, in March last year.  Patient zero - the first person to be infected - has been identified as two-year-old Emile Ouamouno from the rural village of Meliandou.  He died four days after he fell ill with a sky-high fever and vomiting in December 2013.   Just weeks later his sister succumbed to the disease, followed by their mother and grandmother.

Man Commits Suicide, Jump off Third Mainland Bridge

A man, identified as Okechukwu Ezeigbo, has drowned in the Lagoon after taking a dive from the top of the Third Mainland Bridge on Thursday.
 
The Imo State indigene was said to be among several passengers in a commercial bus heading towards Obalende, on the Lagos Island area of Lagos State, when the incident happened.
 

Boy attacked by dogs returns from India

Omonigho Abraham, the four year old boy who was attacked by dogs in the Igando area of Lagos State, has returned into the country from an India medical trip.
 
Omonigho returned into Nigeria on Thursday in company with his father, Odia, and mother, Helen, who went with him on the trip.
 
PUNCH Metro had reported on October 7, 2014 that the victim was attacked by two dogs in their house on Adegboyega Street, Akesan Estate.

Spanish club Rayo Vallecano have immortalized late Nigeria goalkeeper Wilfred Agbonavbare by naming a gate at their stadium after him. Agbonavbare died in Spain on Tuesday after a battle with cancer.

Boko Haram planning to use young shoe repairers, livestock as bombers - FG

The Federal Government, yesterday, revealed the purported plans by Boko Haram to use male suicide bombers disguised as cobblers (shoe repairers) as well as livestock, like goats, cows, donkeys and camels, to carry out their deadly missions.
 
According to the Coordinator of the National Information Centre, Mr. Mike Omeri, “available intelligence reports indicate a plan by Boko Haram to use young male suicide bombers disguised as cobblers to hide explosives in their tool boxes and detonate them on soft target areas such as markets, restaurants, ATM locations, political rallies, worship centres as well as other public places.
