President Jonathan is presently on pilgrimage to Israel.  And today he attended an interdenominational service  ''A day with Jesus for Nigeria in Israel''.

One of those campaigning to be governor of Rivers State stole N3 billion - Gov. Amaechi

One of those campaigning to be governor of Rivers State was the contractor who was meant to build a road in Rivers State, he abandoned the road, took the N3 billion and left.
 
These were the words of Governor Rotimi Amaechi yesterday at the rally held at the Amesiemake stadium to celebrate the seventh year anniversary of him as the governor of the state.
 
He said he single handedly built the 40,000 capacity stadium where the rally took place.  He used the opportunity to thank the justices of the Supreme court for delivery the judgement that brought him in as governor in 2007.

Kaci Hickox, the nurse that has been placed under mandatory quarantine since arriving from Sierra Leone on Friday has said her basic human rights have been violated.  And that the present situation she has been placed is inhumane and unacceptable.
 
She said she is physically strong but emotionally exhausted.  ''To put me through this emotional and physical stress is completely unacceptable'' she said.  She slammed New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie  for describing her as ''obviously ill''. ''For him to make a statement that is categorically not true is just unacceptable and appalling''.  ''For the first 12 hours I was in shock.  Now I am angry'' she said.
 
 

51 year-old mother arrested with 1.7kg of cocaine

An official statement from the NDLEA's head of Public Affairs, Ofoyeju Mitchell states that a 51year old single mother was arrested during an outward screening of passengers on an Emirate flight to China.
 
According to the agency, the mother of four, Muyinotu Alade hid the drugs in a body cream bottle.  During a search, she was discovered to have with her 150 wraps of cocaine weighing 1.725kg and 150 wraps of heroin weighting 1.712kg.  In her statement the suspect said she was offered $4000 to smuggle the drugs into China.

Rihanna launched her male fragrance line yesterday in Atlanta.  And she was personally at Macy's to see to the official release of the fragrance and to also meet-and-greet fans.
 
She wore a black stunning, revealing black ensemble reminiscent of a belly dancing costume with an halter top that showed off her midriff.  She accessorised with several necklaces and bracelets.

Another knock on ''Okada'' riders, As nationwide ban looms

The proposal for the ban of commercial motorcycles popularly called ''Okada'' nationwide may soon be enforced.  This proposal which is one of the measures proposed by the National Council on Transportation after its annual conference held in Enugu; is to ensure adequate provision of safety and secured transportation in Nigeria.
 
 

Britian officially end Afghanistan combat mission

Britain ended its combat operations in the Helmand province of Afghanistan.  The UK troops witnessed the lowering of the Union flag for the last time at the Camp Bastion complex in Helmand which they shared with the US marines.
 
Every marine and British troop will soon board planes and head home.  Thought exact dates was not disclosed for security reasons.
 

NFF Crises: Stephen Keshi recalled back as Super Eagles coach

The Chris Giwa led faction who took over the NFF following a Federal High Court ruling on Thursday have overturned the decision of the Amaju Pinnick faction and recalled back Stephen Keshi as the coach of the Super Eagles.

Keshi who was relieved of his position despite a 3-1 victory of the Super Eagles over Sudan in Abuja was sacked and replaced with Amodu Shaibu.

Governor Rotimi Amaechi during an All Progressive Congress mega rally at the Adokie Amiesimaka stadium in Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state has pleaded with people to stop referring to President Jonathan as his brother.
