Andele Lara said she has earned thousands of dollars and instagram followers for looking like Rihanna.
 
Lara said she was extremely shy as a child.  But at 15-years people started to notice the resemblance with Rihanna.  She said as Rihanna became more famous, so also her own popularity increased.  People started stopping her on the street to take photographs with her thinking she was the real Rihanna.

Former Nigeria Foreign Affairs Minister, Olugbenga Ashiru dies at 66

Nigerian former Foreign Affairs Minister, Olugbenga Ashiru is dead.  The diplomat died today in a South African hospital after a long battle with illness.  He was aged 66 years.

Family sources said Olugbenga Ashiru had been battling with brain tumour for a while and had been on admission for the past three months.

Olugbenga Ashiru became Nigerian Foreign Affairs Minister in 2011 when he was appointed by President Jonathan.  But was removed in 2013.



An Overland airplane crash lands in Ilorin

Another plane disaster was averted when an Overland airplane from Abuja crash landed in Ilorin, Kwara State this evening at about 5pm.
 
The plane was said to have had a burst tyre after landing on the tarmac.
 
However, there was no casualty from the incident as all 59 passengers and 3 crew members on board the plane disembarked safely.
 
The aircraft was later towed from the tarmac at about 7pm this evening.



Eight-month-pregnant teenager killed by brothers in Indian in an honour killing

The body of 19-year-old girl said to have been eight month pregnant at the time of her death was discovered in the Grages river in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh - 34km northwest of capital New Delhi.
 
The teenager was said to have been strangled by her two brothers in an honour killing for having an affair with a man from the same village.  The two suspects and another of their accomplice have been declared wanted by the police.

Scientist who discovered DNA is forced to sell his Nobel Prize for saying Africans are less intelligent.

James Watson, a scientist who won the 1962 Nobel Prize for the discovery of DNA is being forced to sell the prize after being shun by the scientific community.
 
Watson during an interview with the Sunday Times in 2007 stated that people of African descent were less intelligent than their white counterparts.  This statement sparked international outcry.
 
The American scientist said since making the controversial remark he had been shunned by the scientific community.  He was fired from the boards of a number of companies and has not given any public lectures since making the inflammatory remark.

Trend setting North West in a designer fur coat for a day out at the Spa

Kim Kadashian's little girl North West in few years from now will be ruling the world of fashion.

For a pampering session at a Beverly Hills Spa with her mother, the 17-month-old tot was dressed in a plush black fur cape, black leggings, black dress and black velvet loafers with tinny kittycat faces.  Her hair was pulled back into a neat ballerina's bun.

North West and her mother were on their way to keep their appointment at a Beverly Hill Spa.

British grandmother on death row in Bali, Indonesia faces execution, two Nigerians to be excuted within the next 4 weeks

57-year-old grandmother, Lindsay Sandiford who has been on death row in Bali, Indonesia for trafficking cocaine worth  £1.6million into Bali got more bad news that the new president of Indonesia will not show her any mercy.
 
The legal secretary from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire was sentenced to death in January last year for trafficking drugs into Bali.  And all her appeals are said to have been denied.
 
Her last hope of finding leniency from newly appointed president Joko Widodo was dashed when the president made it clear that he intend to take a tough stand against drug traffickers.

Seven drug traffickers caught on an Ethiopian flight from Abuja with 8.7kg cocaine

Seven drug traffickers who ingested a total of 8.7kg cocaine were napped by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA when they tried to board an Ethiopian flight from Abuja.
 
The caught traffickers are, Fred Obi (49), Ekechi Ferdinand (36), Okonkwo Paul (20), Azubuogu Obumneme (30), Okechi Anthony (34), Anozie Henry (34) and Okafor Francis (51).
 
NDLEA spokesman, Mitchell Ofoyeju confirmed that the raid was headed by the agency's commander, Mr. Hamisu Lawal at the Abuja Airport.  The suspects who were arrested  and isolated were said to have finished excreting the last drug this morning.

Former Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak found not guilty by court

An Egyptian court has dismissed criminal charges against former president Hosni Mubarak in connection with the killing of protesters in the 2011 uprising that ended his nearly three-decade reign.


Mubarak, 86, was also acquitted of corruption charges that he faced along with his sons Alaa and Gamal.  Mubarak was convicted and sentenced to life in prison in 2012, but the verdict was overturned on appeal.

Wonders shall never end” they say.  Some days back, Sound Sultan went for an event and was accosted by a young man who asked for money. Sultan then gave the guy N100.  Few minutes later the beggar came back and carefully stuffed the cash on Sultan’s car as he drove off.

The artist however reacted to the situation on his instangram page with a note saying ”Sad case for Nigerian Youths who always think they deserve more for not working.’’ He further asked, ’Is there minimum wage for begging? If you ask me for hand-outs all the time I am recognised, I have the right to decide what your salary to the hard work of recognition is.’’ ‘’ I gave a young man 100card and he came back to put it on my car as I was driving off the little traffic. Okay, you have class to refuse a hundred naira note, so you should have enough class to stop begging’’ Sultan said.
 
 

 

Man found dead mouse in sausage after making himself a sandwich

A Russian man, Anatol Voronkov, 28 years, was left dumbfounded when he discovered a dead mouse inside a sausage he wanted to use to make himself a sandwich.  The sausage was advertised as a high quality meat.

After biting through part of the sandwich he suddenly spotted something dark inside.  Anatol said, ‘’I thought it was a pepper, but then I realised it was the foot of a rodent.  And worse, I then found the foot was attached to the rest of the animal in the middle of the sausage.’’
