Members of the Jehovah Witness sect have been ban from participating in the forth coming elections.  They have been asked not to collect voters cards, vote nor contest in the elections.
 
According to PM News, the reasons given are that process is satanic and against God's command and that they should instead wait for the Kingdom of God which will be established here on earth, which should be their ultimate goal.

Angry Arik Air Passengers Shut Down Abuja Airport


 
According to Premium Times, stranded passengers, who were scheduled to travel to Ibadan by Arik Air yesterday, but were left stranded for hours by the airline shut down operations at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, last night.
 
The aggrieved passengers blocked the boarding gate of the airport and did not allow Arik and other airlines to board passengers to other destinations.

Suspected Ebola victim flown to the UK after suffering needle injury while treating ebola patients



A British military healthcare worker has been evacuated from Sierra Leone to the UK after being accidentally jabbed with a needle while treating Ebola patients.The worker has returned to England for monitoring, according to Public Health England (PHE).
The woman was flown back to RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire on Friday night and then transferred to an isolation ward at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead, northwest London.

Syrian woman accused of adultry survives militant stoning

 
A Syrian woman stoned by the militant Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) group for alleged adultery and left for dead has miraculously walked away from the brutal punishment. 

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the militant group sentenced the woman to be “stoned for adultery” in the town of Raqqa, the ISIS stronghold in northern Syria.

Militants carried out the punishment and “stoned her until they thought she had died.”

But just as they had stopped pelting her with stones, the woman stood up and tried to flee.

It will not be well with them, governor curses opposition


 
Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State yesterday rained curses on the opposition, saying, “it will not be well with them.”
 
Suswam who made the comment at the ongoing Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign held in Katsina Ala Local Government Area of the state said,  “some of those who have benefitted immensely from the ruling PDP but  for their selfish reason decided to betray the party by moving to opposition party, it will not be well with them.”

Former President of South Africa, Mr. Thabo Mbeki, has been named the winner of the 2014 Obafemi Awolowo Prize for Leadership, for demonstrating similar leadership qualities with the sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
With this, Mbeki joined Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, winner of the maiden edition of the prize, in the Foundation’s Hall of Fame.

Chineye who admitted to be the gang’s informant, revealed that his union with his wife, made it easy for him to study the terrain in Cotonou, Benin Republic, thereby facilitating the gang’s entry into the country.

Military arrests General, other senior military officers over Baga attack, moved them to Abuja for interrogation


 
A Brigadier General. A Lieutenant Colonel and five other top officers of the Nigerian Army deployed to Baga headquarters have been arrested and moved to Abuja for questioning. 
The arrested officers are expected to answer questions on the loss of men, location and military equipment which were taken over by the insurgents.

Boy attacked by dogs got infections from LASUTH - Indian Hospital

Available information has shown that four-year-old Abraham Omonigho, who was attacked by two German shepherd dogs in Igando area of Lagos State, in September 2014, was infected while at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.

This was said by the medical personnel at the Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad, an Indian medical facility in Telegana State, where Omonigho was flown to late November, 2014, after his father, Odia, took him out of LASUTH.
