I just love this couple! George and Amal Clooney were seen on Friday in New York City holding hands and eradiating flushes of romance.

The couple, who married in September, had spent the evening enjoying a double date with friends and Amal looked stunning as always as they made their way home.

The international law and human rights attorney was chic and sleek in a sleeveless white jumpsuit teamed with exquisite pale yellow heels. 

Germanwings removes poorly timed adverts which promise a surprise


The Germanwings airline has pulled ads bearing the unfortunate slogan, “Get ready to be surprised,” from London’s subway system after Tuesday’s deadly crash in the French Alps.

The advert posters feature an image of a flight attendant giving a come-hither look.

“Enjoy the variety of Germany and fly to e.g. Berlin or Hamburg,” read the ads, which appeared on trains and platforms in the London Underground.

First US penny sold for $1.2 million


The first US penny is 233 years old and was sold for nearly $1.2 million Thursday night at an auction in Baltimore.
 
The coin, known as the "Birch Cent," was made in 1792, months after the one-cent denomination was first authorized by Congress, according to the auction house Stack's Bowers Galleries.

INEC orders manual accreditation, extends exercise until sunday

 
Here is  a statement from the Independent National Electoral Commission.
INEC has been monitoring field reports on the accreditation process since commencement this morning. Whereas the process has gone well in several places, in some others it has encountered some challenges especially the card readers.
Consequently, accreditation has been slow in many places and has not commenced at all in some others .

Even though the guidelines for the 2015 general elections provide that where card readers fail to work and cannot be replaced, elections in such PUs will be postponed to the next day.

Germanwings killer co-pilot Andreas Lubitz was suffering from severe ''psychosomatic illness''


According to the German newspaper, Welt, police found evidence at the flat of killer co-pilot Andreas Lubitz which suggests he was suffering from ‘’severe burnout syndrome – a serious psychosomatic disease.
'Severe burnout syndrome' is a state of emotional, mental and physical ‎exhaustion and is often linked to those in jobs with high stress levels.

Update: INEC website hacked by ''Nigeria Cyber Army''

 
 
according to an update INEC website which was hacked into my Nigeria Cyper Army has been reactivated.  Its Chief Press Secretary, Kayode Idowu says there is no cause for panic as the situation ha been brought under control.

The website of the Independent National Electoral Commission has been hacked. The website is hacked by a group that parade itself as Nigerian Cyber Army. The hacking was confirmed by INEC on its Twitter handle, @inecnigeria

“We are aware of the recent hack of our @inecnigeria website, we are currently investigating this incident, #NigeriaDecides”

INEC staff scamper for safety as explosion rocks polling unit in Enugu State

 
An explosion has occurred at WTC School 1,polling unit at about 7.38AM which left voters and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, scampering for safety.
 
Two others were detonated at about 8.56AM at the same premises by the operatives of the Anti-Bomb Squad of the Enugu Police command.  
 
According to an eyewitness, the bombs were laden in a Honda car which was parked beside the entrance gate of the school.

The place was also surging with a lot of enthusiastic voters. Journalists, both local and foreign who have also been on the ground since the early hours of the morning to monitor and cover the processes.

Man arrested for using monkey, snakes for robbery

The police in Lagos State have arrested a 27-year-old robbery suspect, Mohammed Nafiu, who specialised in using monkeys and snakes to dispossess people of their money and valuables.
 
One of the monkeys was also arrested and is presently in police custody.
 
Nafiu told the police that apart from the conventional tool (gun) used by most robbers, the sight of a snake or monkey unsettles and scares people. He said he was able to dispossess his victims of their valuables when confronted with these animals, especially fully grown ones.
 
The Kano State-born Nafiu, and his accomplice, Nura, who is still at large, said they initiated this method of robbery operation some years ago.
 
“We trained the animals to obey our instructions. On a single command, the animals attack whoever we want to rob and we are able to take whatever valuable they have on them, especially money,” Nafiu said.

How I quit hard drugs - Terry G

Terry G, one of Nigeria popular but controversial artistes while chatting with Saturday beats said he once indulged in hard substance.  He said, it was never really his intention to get into drugs.
He also revealed that he was introduced into taking the substance by an actress.
 
“People actually see me as a very bad guy, so it does not surprise me when I go to certain places and they offer me some things because they think I already indulge in them. It was a gathering of celebrities and they say when you are in Rome act like a Roman. I was offered and I did not want to be seen as the odd one out, so I indulged in it with them,” he said.
 
Talking about the substance, Terry G said it was cocaine but he found out that it didn’t “work” for him even after he used it, so he decided to quit.

Liberia's last Ebola patient dies from the virus, might have contacted the virus through sex

 
A woman who was Liberia's sole remaining known Ebola patient has died at a treatment centre in the capital, said Francis Ketteh, acting head of the country's Ebola response team.
 
The case was Liberia's first in weeks and it set back efforts to halt a virus that has killed more than 10,000 people in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone.
 
Authorities say the woman, who died in Monrovia on Friday, may have contracted Ebola through sex with a survivor.

Germanwings plane crash: Investigators reveal they have received body parts but not a single intact body

 
Investigators at the Germanwings crash site revealed they have retrieved more than 400 body parts belonging to the disaster's 150 victims - but have not found an intact body.
Police have now asked friends and families of the deceased to provide DNA samples as they start the grim task of identifying those who died in the crash.
