All those I have offended should please forgive me - Gov. Ayo Fayose

Governor Ayo Fayose today at a special prayer session held at the Ansar-udeen mosque in Ado-Ekiti to celebrate his recent victory asked his opponent and those he has offended to please extend forgiveness to him.

Fayose said nobody is above mistakes and that all he want is peace and development for his people.

He said, “If they say someone has enemies, I’m number one in the world. But God has been merciful and has been helping me to overcome my challenges.  I need your prayers because it will strengthen me more. I’m here in the mosque to thank God.

“All I want is peace. I have a constitutionally guaranteed tenure. A governor is judged by his achievements in office. All I’m interested in is to bring development to my people. My opponents know if I have a rest of mind I will achieve my objectives.

Igbo Leaders a Disgrace - Etcetera

For the very first time, I totally agree with Etcetera.  please read his write-up.  Absolutely interesting and truthful...
----------

I was told that every Igboman who heard Ojukwu’s speech after the Biafran war was filled with a renewed sense of pride and hope. A hope that one day the Igbo nation will rise and become a force of reckoning not just in Nigeria but in the entire black world. I have read that speech over and over and each time I read through, I am filled with pride and imagination of how those who heard the words pouring out of the mouth of the warlord himself must have felt. Before going any further, let me recount a little part of what the late sage said while addressing the press:

“In the three years of the war, necessity gave birth to invention. During those three years of heroic bound, we leapt across the great chasm that separates knowledge from know-how. We built rockets, and we designed and built our own delivery systems. We guided our rockets. We guided them far, we guided them accurately. For three years, blockaded without hope of import, we maintained all our vehicles. The state extracted and refined petrol, individuals refined petrol in their back gardens. We built and maintained our airports, maintained them under heavy bombardment. Despite the heavy bombardment, we recovered so quickly after each raid that we were able to maintain the record for the busiest airport in the continent of Africa. We spoke to the world through telecommunication system engineered by local ingenuity; the world heard us and spoke back to us! We built armoured car tanks. We modified aircraft from trainer to fighters, from passenger aircraft to bombers. In the three years of freedom we had broken the technological barrier. In three years we became the most civilised, the most technologically advanced black people on earth.”

A baggage handler who fell asleep inside a cargo hold of an Alaska Airline jet ban for life

A baggage handler who fell asleep inside the cargo hold of an Alaska Airlines jet made a desperate 911 call pleading for the plane to stop.
"I'm inside a plane, and I feel like it's moving in the air," the airport worker said.
"Flight 448. Can you please have somebody stop it?"

"You're where?" the dispatcher asked. "Where are you in a plane?"
The man - an employee of Menzies Aviation, which handles baggage for airlines - tried one more time to explain, then hung up.

''Pretty Woman'' Julia Roberts cut a stylish figure in skinny jeans and ankle boots at 47

She just celebrated the movie's 25-year anniversary, and after all that time, Julia Roberts proves she is still a 'Pretty Woman walking down the street.'

And the 47-year-old star certainly made quite an impression in New York as she strolled down the street on Friday with just little makeup, which highlighted her natural beauty and shielded her eyes with a pair of sunglasses.

Heart breaking stroy of a 12-year-old Indian boy whose parents wish he was dead

The desperate parents of a boy whose head hangs at a 180-degree angle have admitted they would rather he died than continue to suffer.

Mahendra Ahirwar, 12, from Madhya Pradesh in central India, suffers from a rare condition that makes his neck bend and his head hang from his body.

His weak backbone means he can't stand or walk and is restricted to a sitting position. Mahendra can just about crawl but needs help to eat and go to the toilet.

His father Mukesh Ahirwar, 40, and mother Sumitra Ahirwar, 35, who both work as labourers when they can, say they have consulted more than 50 doctors across India but none could diagnose his condition.  More photos below ......

One of the reasons why the Chibok girls were kidnapped was to make President Goodluck administration look incompetent - Doyin Okupe

Senior Adviser to President Jonathan, Dr. Doyin Okupe took to his facebook page today to air his views on the reasons why the Chibok girls were kidnapped.

He also said the BBOG was formed to internationalized the plot and cause embarrassment to the government.

Read his post below.......

''One of the reasons the Chibok girls were kidnapped was to present Jonathan's administration as incompetent and hold it to ransom against 2015 elections.

One of the reasons the BBOG was formed was to sustain and internationalise the embarrassment. One of the reasons President Jonathan lost the election was a national and international conspiracy predicated on this carefully choreographed and assiduously sustained perception.

One of the issues that will be in the hand over notes will be the missing girls.

What is reasonable and expedient for well meaning men and women of good conscience is to dialogue with the incoming administration on what best new approach to employ to find and rescue the chibok girls.

Not much can be achieved, except mischief, by continuing to flog this administration on this matter.''

Nigerian man kills fiancee in Texas

Within the past decade, nearly 12,000 American women, including undocumented, resident aliens and naturalised citizens, were murdered by their current or estranged lovers. This number clearly is more than the number of American soldiers killed in the recent wars against terrorism.

Last Wednesday, Osa Alohaneke, a Nigerian resident in Texas, added his estranged fiancée, Evelyne Ebane Epiepang to the sad statistics.

Fort Bend County Sheriff’s office said in a statement that 56-year-old Osa Alohaneke had been charged with murder. He was being held without bond at the county jail. Deputies arrived at the Mission Bend home Wednesday night and discovered 52-year-old Epiepang dead inside. Her sister was taken to a hospital for treatment from injuries that were not life threatening. Deputies earlier in the day had received a call from the woman but when they arrived, Alohaneke had left.

Alohaneke is currently housed by the county jail . County Court Clerk, Ms. Courtney Henshaw confirmed that “Mr. Alohaneke is in custody, charged with the murder of his fiancée, Ms. Epiepang. He is expected to see a judge between two and six weeks. Until then, there is nothing else to share with you, Mr. Jebose. If you need additional information, please contact the Fort Bend County Court house.”

A suicide bomb blast in Afghanistan's eastern city of Jalalabad has killed 33 people and injured more than 100 outside a bank where government workers collect salaries, the city's police chief said on Saturday.
Police were investigating whether there was a second explosion after people rushed to the scene to help, the police chief, Fazel Ahmad Sherzad, told a news conference.
"It was a suicide attack," Sherzad said, adding that it was still too early for the police to determine if the attacker had worn the explosives or had placed them in a car.
