Man charged before a Lagos court for stabbing his co-tenant over bathroom usage
A 48-year-old businessman, Kassim
Raheem, who allegedly stabbed a co-tenant for trying to outsmart him by dashing
into their residence’s only bathroom, appeared before the court on Friday in
Lagos.

A mum and stepdad who tortured their daughter
to death and hid her corpse for three years so they could continue to claim
child benefit have been jailed for 31 years.
The heartless pair
stashed the dead five-year-old in a locked room in their rented apartment so
they could rake in the extra cash from the government and were only found out
when they were being evicted and bailiffs discovered the tiny mummified body.
A court heard that
Juraj Hrotak, 34, regularly beat and starved his partner, Alexandra Hrotakova,
and her daughter, Lucka, and it is believed she eventually died from the abuse
in around 2009.

Cambodia HIV mass infection: At least 90 villagers tested positive to the virus
At least 90
villagers in a small community in Cambodia have been diagnosed with the HIV virus in a
mass-infection.
Dr Didier
Fontenille, Director of the Pasteur Institute in Cambodia, said samples taken
from people living in the Roka commune in Battambang province tested positive
this week. He said three different techniques were used in the testing and each test was positive.
"It has been
confirmed three times by different techniques. Around 90 have tested
positive," he told journalist. he said
the next step will be to determine when the people got infected.
Lagos State Civil Servants to get 15% bonus with their December salary
In a statement by the State Head of
Service, Mrs Oluseyi Williams, the Lagos State government will be paying its
workers an extra 15% bonus with their December salary.
In a statement, Mrs. Oluseyi Williams
said, "Some states are owing their workers up to four months’ salary but
that is not the case in Lagos. I was discussing with some HOS and they told me
they are looking for money to pay their workers’ salaries. Our workers will
receive their December salary any moment from now and I am happy to say it that
it will come with 15 per cent bonus. Government appreciates your service to the
state and urges you to continue to put in your best. Wherever you get your
daily meal, it is good to put in your best; your reward is on earth.”

Family of 7 burnt to death in a midnight inferno
Tragedy struck on Thursday when seven members of the same family got
burnt in a midnight inferno at Anyamkor near Young Secondary School, Gboko,
Benue State.
