NCC shut down APC SMS Presidential Campaign Fund Raising Platform

Barely 48 hours after the Buhari-Osinbajo Presidential Campaign Fundraising Committee launched some of its platforms for raising funds, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has shutdown the Short Messaging Service (SMS) platform – 35350 – meant to encourage small donors, especially young people, to do so.

The couple, Ahmed Tukur, the son of former PDP Chairman, Bamanga Tukur, and his preety wife Marimot both got married in April 2014.

They are now proud parents as they welcome their first baby together.

Her new selfie book  is said to have pictures she took of herself in the year George Orwell was made famous. She picked up a camera and instinctively decided there was nothing better than photographing herself ... so she did.


Here's what Kim said in pitching the book, "I took pictures of myself with digital cameras when I was in junior high and high school, and I just got hooked." "I was always obsessed with selfies."


And sources said the book was Kanye's idea. He titled it and his creative team – Donda came up with the look.


It's due out in May.


 
 

Casper's dog escape from Jennifer Lopez's house and bit her neighbour

According to TMZ, Casper Smart’s dog escaped from Jennifer Lopez's house and bit one of her neighbors ... leaving the woman with a broken hand.


Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Smart's boxer, named Bear was at JLo's home outside Los Angeles back in December ... when he got loose and clamped down on the neighbor's hand and arm.

Manny appeared on "TMZ Hollywood Sports" and broke the heartbreaking news and  said there won’t be a follow-up to his two wildly successful albums.

"I stopped singing," Manny says ... "I like singing. I love music ... but I don't think music loves me."

ECOWAS to send 250 observers to Nigeria for next month's election

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is to deploy a 250-strong Election Observation Mission (EOM) to Nigeria for the country’s general election.
 
The ECOWAS mission, one of the largest foreign observation teams being deployed in Nigeria, will be headed by former Ghanaian President John Kufuor, who led a fact-finding mission to the country last October.
 
 

Angry youths stones Minister and other dignitaries at PDP presidential rally in Bauchi

There was chaos today at the Ibrahim Babangida Square, venue of the PDP presidential rally in Bauchi State as angry youths threw stones and other objects at dignitaries.
 
The supporters who had come to the venue with drums and placards and singing solidarity songs for the president and PDP became unruly during the programme and began pelting dignitaries on the stand.
 

Dead mouse found in a pack of popcorn already half devoured by a Grandmother

It was supposed to be a family night in, spent watching a DVD and munching through a bag of popcorn.
But the evening they envisaged took a disturbing turn when the grandmother discovered a dead mouse festering at the pit of the popcorn packet. 
The grandmother-of-three, said the experience was so traumatic she will never be able to eat popcorn again. The grandmother, who was watching the DVD with her 24-year-old son, found the dead mouse in the £1 packet of Island Sun popping corn she had purchased from the Tesco Metro in Burnt Oak, north-west London.

Two robbers who went to a house to rob instead, sat down to watch TV while snacking on the owner's food

Two burglars who broke into a house and sat and watched the owner's TV while eating his crisps have been arrested after the owner spotted them on a remote surveillance camera.

Security-conscious Chung Chang, 32, was at work when he decided to check his surveillance gear from the office.

To his disbelief, he watched as the two men made themselves comfortable as they wandered around his living room in Linyi, in eastern China's Shandong province. He said: 'I don't know what made me check the remote surveillance camera, perhaps it was a sixth-sense. But when I saw these two men in my flat I was very confused.

Mali has refused to accept the body of terrorist Amedy Coulibaly in a sudden U-turn the day before he was expected to be buried in the soil of his birth country.
 
The gunman who murdered four hostages in a Kosher delicatessen as well as a policewoman was due to be buried in Bamako today; instead he remains in a fridge in the Forensic Institute in Paris.
 
Malian authorities have reportedly given no reason for the change of heart, which means Coulibaly is now likely to be buried somewhere in France.

The President of Nigeria’s Court of Appeal between 1999 and 2009, Justice Umaru Abdullahi, on Wednesday said he sat for the West African School Certificate exams in 1961 alongside Muhammadu Buhari, the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress.

In an interview with Leadership newspaper Wednesday, Justice Abdullahi, 75, said he and a few other prominent Nigerians were Mr. Buhari’s classmates at the Provincial Secondary School, Katsina (now Government College, Katsina) and that the APC candidate was among the most brilliant students then.

Five policement in detention for taking 150,000 bribe

Five policemen attached to the Anti-Robbery Squad of the Area M Police Command have been put in detention for allegedly taking a bribe of N150, 000 from a suspected fraudster.

It was gathered that the police officers had arrested the complainant, identified simply as Ifeanyi, for allegedly engaging in internet fraud.

He was said to have been led to the nearest ATM to make withdrawal so as to be free of the accusation.
 

APC and PDP supporters clashed today in Lagos

PDP and APC supporters were said to have clashed early today at the Ekoro Junction, Command Road in Abule Egba area of Lagos.
 
APC supporters were carrying out a rally when they were confronted by PDP supporters according to an eye witness.  Dangerous weapons were used.  Fortunately, no life was lost.

We steal cars in Lagos, sell them in Cotonou

Four suspected car snatchers, who are now in the custody of the Lagos State Police Command, have explained how they snatched expensive vehicles in different areas of the state and sold them to buyers in Cotonou, Benin Republic.


The suspects are Raoul Dedavi, Bright Ekeocha, Aziza Akobu and Adebayo Peter.

According to the police, Dedavi, a Beninoise car dealer who is based in Cotonou, is one of the alleged receivers of the vehicles stolen by the gang.

The Lagos State Government has asked President Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Group and the Transformation Ambassador of Nigeria to remove the president campaign materials illegally mounted on street lamp posts in Lagos Sate.
 
George Noah, the Managing Director of Lagos State Signage and Advertising Agency said the agency’s enforcement team would be forced to remove them if their advice is not heed to.
Noah said, “In the last 48 hours, two advertisers in the outdoor sector had terminated multi-million naira contracts with outdoor agencies registered by LASAA to operate in the state.”

13 people killed in Donetsk bus attack

Fresh shelling at a bus stop in Donetsk, Ukraine, has killed at least 13 people, as the military admitted to have lost the Donetsk airport to pro-Russia rebels. 


The shelling comes days after an artillery firing on a bus killed 13 in Donetsk's Buhas region.
 

It is likely to increase tensions despite Russia and Ukraine agreeing on Wednesday on a dividing line to pull back heavy weapons from.

A new video that was uploaded onto YouTube shows the Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau mocking both President Good Luck Jonathan and the APC Presidential Candidate for next months’s general election, Mohammadu Buhari calling them infidels. And at the same time berating Nigerian soldiers as cowards.

Fayose's Controversial adverts: Arrest and prosecute Fayose once he leaves office - NHRC

The National Human Rights Commission, yesterday, reviewed the controversial advert placed in some major national newspapers in the country by Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State with a verdict that the material amounted to “hate speech.”
 
Though the commission may not immediately arrest and prosecute Fayose because of the immunity he currently enjoys as a sitting governor, the rights commission might recommend him for appropriate sanctions once he leaves office.

A fashion designer, Abosede Lawal, has told an Igando Grade A Customary Court to dissolve her 20 years old marriage with her estranged husband, Demola Lawal, who she alleged is mentally deranged.
 
Abosede, a resident of 29, Ore Ofe Street, Governor’s Road, Ikotun, told the court that she had five children with her husband, a mechanic.
