Hundreds of parents were thrown into panic as school wrongly sent them tests saying their children were missing




Hundreds of terrified parents were left panicking after a school wrongly reported their children were missing after accidentally sending them a bulk truancy text using its automated service.

On Monday, the parents of children at Wadebridge School in Cornwall received the text message saying their kids had not arrived for the day.

But when they frantically called the school they were told the message had been sent in error.

The former CBN governor today released another statement claiming that the N6trillion the African Union says is stolen from Nigeria annually  is not part of the N30trillion that he stated few days ago has been stolen, unaccounted for or mismanaged under the present finance minister, Okonjo-Iweala.

A man was public humiliated by his wife after she found out he had kept back part of his salary from her.

Kneeling with a sign around his neck, the man begs his wife for forgiveness in Hangzhou, the capital of eastern China's Zhejiang Province.

The unidentified man, who was stripped half-naked, made his very public apology in front of bemused onlookers.

Kefee's first year memorial will hold tomorrow


Friends of late Branama Queen, Kefee Irikefe Don-Momoh will tomorrow gather at Daystar Christian Church Auditorium, Lagos for her first year Memorial concert.

Ambode, Agbaje to sign peace pledge on Monday


According to the US Consulate, Lagos, both the PDP candidate, Jimi Agbaje and his APC counterpart, Ambode would be signing a peace pledge on Monday ahead of the 28th February governorship election.

The peace pledge signing ceremony will take place at the US Consul General's residence in Ikoyi.

 Former governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako together with his son, Abdul Aziz Murtala Nyako were declared wanted by the anti- graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today for a case of criminal conspiracy, stealing, abuse of office and money laundering.
 

But when Premium Times got in touch with Nyako through his media assistance, Ahmed Sajoh, what Nyako said will surprise you. He described President Jonathan’s government, as a government that allows bad people move and enjoy freedom in the country, while the good ones are being hunted for. JTF confirms abduction of four AGIP employees by suspected sea pirates



Joint Niger Delta Military Task Force in the Niger Delta, codenamed Operation Pulo Shield, has confirmed the abduction of four oil workers by suspected sea pirates in Ogoimbiri community of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The four oil workers, according to the JTF, were in the employ of the Nigerian Agip Oil Company.
It was learnt that suspected sea pirates, operating with a speedboat, attacked a boat conveying the four Agip employees and abducted them.

EFCC arraigns Youth Corps member, two others for cybercrime

 
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, February 3, 2015 arraigned the trio of Solomon Uchendu, Ndubisi Agu and Uchendo Chikwadu before Justice  D. V.Agishir of the Federal High Court sitting in Enugu, Enugu State for offences bordering on obtaining by false pretence and Advanced Fee Fraud.   
The suspects, who were living at 4, Coal City University Close, Independence Layout, Enugu, were arrested by operatives of the EFCC following intelligence report over their alleged involvement in Internet crime.  

Norway to jail people who offer food, money or shelter to homeless people, to make begging illegal

 
 
Norway has proposed a law which would make it illegal to help people begging on the street. 
The draft for the anti-begging law would not only make it a crime to ask for money, but also to help those who beg.
The rules will state that those offering money, food or shelter to beggars will also face up to a year in prison

EFCC declares former Adamawa governor, Murtala Nyako wanted



Former governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako has been declared wanted by the anti- graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. Also wanted by the EFCC is the son of the ex-governor, Abdul Aziz Murtala Nyako, a retired Naval officer.

Both are wanted in a case of criminal conspiracy, stealing, abuse of office and money laundering.

As Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina fights for her life, a lawyer for father Bobby Brown claims that despite previous reports the couple’s only daughter isn’t and has never been married to step brother Nick Gordon.

Following the death of singing legend Whitney three years ago, Bobbi entered into a relationship with Gordon, who she had grown up with.

Last January the couple announced that they had gotten married, Bobbi Kristina posted photos of their ‘wedding rings’ on social media but their nuptials were never confirmed.

Nigeria has been classified as the country with the highest number of multiple sim users in the world according to a study which was carried out by Open Signal.  They put the number of dual sim phone users at 66 per cent.

Two members of a dreaded armed robbery gang that allegedly specialised in stopping and searching members of the public around the National Theatre in Orile Iganmu area of Lagos State have been arrested by the police, while efforts are on to arrest other members of the gang, who escaped after the police foiled a robbery operation.
 
The two suspects, Olalekan Olamide and Jolly Abienekpen are currently being detained at the Ikeja headquarters of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Lagos State Police command, where investigations targeting the activities of members of the gang are on.
 
Crime and Security gathered that the arrested suspects and other members of their gang were on duty when the divisional police officer in charge of Iponri Police Station received a distress call and sent his men to the scene of the attempted robbery.

PDP paid pastors N6bn to campaign for Jonathan - Gov. Amaechi


 
Rivers State governor, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, has alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) bribed some Christian leaders with N6 billion to campaign against the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari.

Amaechi, who doubles as the Director-General of Buhari Presidential Campaign Organisation, made the allegation while speaking at the APC governorship rally held at Emohua, in Emohua Local Government Area of the state, on Tuesday.

The construction of a telecommunication mast at house 45A Olorunsogo Street, Mushin, Lagos, has torn the Olorunsogo family apart.
The property in question is said to belong to the Olorunsogo family, which was bequeathed to Ganiyu and Agbaje Olorunsogo. However, Agbaje said the property belonged to him alone. 
Findings revealed that the duo was formerly managing the house before the Etisalat deal.

Cairo airport on high alert after bombs were found in arrival hall

 
Cairo airport authorities tightened security after finding two bombs near the arrivals hall and a homemade explosive device exploded in the centre of the capital on Tuesday, security officials said.
State news agency MENA quoted Cairo security chief Khaled Youssef as saying the device planted in central Cairo was a sound bomb and that there were no casualties.
The bombs at the airport were detected with electronic devices early on Tuesday and security officials were reviewing video footage to try and determine who planted them, security sources said.

Chadian soldiers retake border town from Boko Haram

 
Chadian forces scored a key victory over Boko Haram on Tuesday, wresting control of the border town of Gamboru within hours of launching a ground offensive against the jihadist group.
Around 2,000 Chadian troops backed by armoured vehicles crossed the border into Gamboru from the Cameroonian town of Fotokol after days of clashes with the insurgents.
By Tuesday evening, the troops had taken control of the town, according to an AFP journalist in Gamboru, leaving scenes of desolation, with houses destroyed, shops gutted and trucks charred.

A TransAsia GE234 passenger jet with 58 people crashes into a river, at least 15 people dead


 
At least 15 people are believed to have been killed and another 13 injured including two infants after a TransAsia passenger plane clipped a road bridge and crashed into a river in Taiwan yesterday. 

The other 30 passengers remain unaccounted for as at the time of blogging this story, as rescue mission is on going.

Jordan executes ISIS jihadists, female suicide bomber among two put to death

It was revealed this morning that Jordan had carried out its threats by killing two ISIS jihadists.  Among the two killed is the would-be female suicide bomber, Sijada al-Rishawi.

The execution happened around 4am local time and came just hours after ISIS released a sickening video showing captured Jordanian fighter pilot being burned alive in a cage.
