90-year-old twins dies 2 hours apart on Christmas Day

Their family calls it a Christmas miracle.

A set of 90-year-old twins died 2 hours and 15 minutes apart on Christmas Day.
 
Martha Dixon and Mary Dickson were born on Sept. 26, 1924 in Bear Springs, Tennessee. Martha was a homemaker, while Mary worked in credit at a department store for 18 years prior to retirement.

Kim seem to want people to see the great resemblance between herself and one-year-old daughter North West.  And I must confess the resemblance do actually exist.
 
She posted an image compiled by a fan on her social media which shows on the right side half of her face as a baby and on the left that of North West.
 
Kim wrote, '' I am not sure who made this but I love these side by side pics.  This is me on the right as a baby and North on the left.''
 

 
 
Another snap shared showed her as a seven-year-old and herself today.
 
While Kim has often been a subject of plastic surgery rumours, this side-by-side pictures shows clearly that the clear skin, eyes and long lashes are all natural.
 

Blogger jailed in Kenya for insulting President Uhuru Kenyatta

A blogger in Kenya has been sentenced to jail time for insulting President Uhuru Kenyatta on Facebook. 
 
The 25-year-old blogger, Alan Wadi Okenga, also known as lieutenant Wadi, was convicted of hate speech for posts he allegedly made about Kenyatta's ethnic group.  
Wadi was sentenced to one year in jail and a fine of $2,200 after reportedly pleading guilty to the charges. If he chooses not pay the fine, he will face another year in jail. 
 
 

Nigerian Navy acquires new warship

The Nigerian Navy has acquired a new warship as part of efforts to tackle the issue of insecurity in the country.
 
The warship named NNS Okpabana - an Igala word for thunder was received by the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin in Lagos.
 
In receiving the warship, Usman Jibrin said, ''The addition of this ship into the NN fleet will certainly bolster our zeal to end the menace in our maritime domain and the region as well as support the regional and global effort to eliminate transnational maritime threats.''
 
 
 

King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia is hospitalized with Pneumonia

King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia has pneumonia and needs temporary help from a breathing tube, the royal court stated today.  The king, who is 90, has a history of medical problems, and his health issues.
 
In a statement quoted by news agencies, the royal court said the king was in stable condition at a military hospital. He was transferred there on Thursday after having been admitted to King Abdulaziz Medical City Hospital in Riyadh, the capital, on Wednesday for unspecified tests.

Speaking on an HBO documentary, Jennifer Lopez let out her emotions as she admitted that she felt she was going to die when her marriage to Marc Anthony broke-up.
 
The 45-year-old, who was with to Marc Anthony for 10 years said she tried her very best to make the marriage work.

An inaugural meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Southwest was held in Akure with the objective of outlining a strategy for winning the 2015 elections in the area, with Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose reiterating the party’s old mantra that the presidential contest is a “do or die” affair
 
 
The returnee-governor said the party must be prepared to use its control of the army and the police, which it currently controls, to ensure victory for President Goodluck Jonathan at next month’s polls.

Four passengers were injured after a plane was blown off the runway by high wind

Four passengers were injured today after a plane which was trying to take off was blown off the runway at the Stornoway Airport on the Isle of Lewis in a remote town in Scotland.

The twin-propeller Saab 340 which had 28 people on board was on its way to Glasgow.  As the flight attempted to take off, strong wind caused it to veer off the tarmac and nose-dived into the grass.

The injured people were taken to the Western Isle Hospital while authorities are investigating the incident.

Have ISIS soldiers contracted the Ebola virus?

According to news filtering in from Mosul, Iraq, an undisclosed number of ISIS militants who are displaying signs of the Ebola virus attended hospital for treatment.

WHO is currently investigating these reports and is yet to confirm them.  According to WHO Director of Communications, Charity Feig, they have reached out to officials in ISIS-held area to offer help.  Unfortunately UN workers are currently banned from entry ISIS controlled areas in Iraq and Syria.
 

Nigerian Army secretly dismissed 203 soldiers after secret court trial held at night

The Nigerian Army has dismissed 203 soldiers after a secret court martial held in the dead of the night, for allegedly disobeying a direct order from their commanding officer.
 
According to an online journal, Premium Times, one of the sacked soldiers, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the soldiers were dismissed for asking for support equipment, following the army’s plan to convey them in a tipper for an operation in Bama and Gwoza, two strongholds of Boko Haram insurgents.

A schizophrenic Florida man decapitated his mother with an ax on New Year’s Eve because he was fed up with her nagging.
 
Christian Jose Gomez, 23, was arrested and charged with first degree murder after admitting to killing his mother, Maria Suarez-Cassagne, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

According to an intelligence source, Several dozen military personnel and civilians were arrested, and a large cache of weapons and explosives were found following a reported coup attempt in The Gambia.
 
The suspects have been interrogated and were being held in “four villas” in or near the tiny west African nation’s capital Banjul Gambia strongman leader Yahya Jammeh, who was visiting Dubai at the time of the attack, blamed unidentified foreign dissidents and “terrorists” for the assault which took place on Tuesday on his presidential palace, and denied it was an attempt to unseat him.
 

Kidnapper of 5-year-old boy nabbed in Abuja

The police in Abuja have arrested a suspected kidnapper, Bola Adesina, who allegedly abducted a five-year-old boy from the Sagamu area of Ogun State.
Sources learnt that 31-year-old Adesina was arrested by detectives attached to the Utako Police Division on Christmas Eve of 2014.
It was also learnt that the victim, identified simply as Ahmed, had been missing from home for about a week.
