Campaign group pledged to buy Buhari's N27m nomination form

The Bauchi State Chapter of the Buhari Campaign Organization has pledged to buy General Muhammadu Buhari's the 2015 presidential nomination form.  Dr. Danjuma Dabo the coordinator of the Nigerian Solution Network Group made the disclosure on Saturday in Bauchi during a solidarity rally in support of Buhari.
 

Nigeria out of Nations Cup, Sudan 1 - Nigeria 0

Sudan today effectively put paid to any desire of Nigeria to defend their title at the African Cup of Nations in Morrocco next year by beating the Super Eagles 1-0 in Kahrtoum.

The Super Eagles had previously lost 2-3 to Congo in the Group A qualifier match in Calabar and drew 0-0 with the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.

On the Group A table Bafana Bafana has seven points, followed by Congo with six points, Sudan three points and Nigeria one point

I drink cow blood before operation - Robbery Suspect

The men of the Lagos State Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) has arrested a 19 year old cross border robbery suspect.  The suspect by name Jamal Nasiru confessed that he normally drinks cow blood for spiritual powers before embarking on any robbery operation.

Other members of the gang arrested with Nasiru are Abubakar Sala, Ahmed Mohammed and Umaru Abubakar.  Their leader Mohammed Abubaker was reportedly killed during exchange of gun fire with the police.

God Help Us! Another deadly virus surfaces- Marburg Haemorrhagic Fever (MHF)

With the world still trying to find a solution to the scourge which the Ebola virus is subjecting humans to, another virus as deadly as the Ebola  virus has brought new fears.

According to the Tribune, the recent death of a Ugandan hospital technician was as a result of the MHF virus.    

Death of inmates at the Kirikiri Prisons Lagos

It has been reported that many inmates were killed and many others injured during the fracas that happened yesterday at the Kirikiri Medium Prisons Lagos following a protest by inmates over the isolation of one of them.

According to reports, the isolated inmate who was also the leader of a Christian programme that takes place within the prisons had bought a microphone and a fan from his personal money.  but the Deputy Prison Controller was said to have disapproved of this purchase and ordered that the prisoner be locked up in isolation.

Ebola: Death figure now 4,033

According to the World Health Organization's report on Friday, the latest count brings the total number of confirmed Ebola cases to 8,399 and total deaths to 4,033.  These figures were from Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Spain and USA.

Ebola: The Liberian Ambassador Role in the whole Saga


First consultant  hospital Lagos, the hospital where the now dead Liberian man Patrick Sawyer was taken to has indicted the Liberian Ambassador to Nigeria.

 According to the Vanguard newspaper, the hospital said at the height of the crises when the hospital refused Patrick Sawyer leaving their premises due to the seriousness and infectious nature of his sickness he brought to Nigeria, the Ambassador threatened to take a legal action against the hospital insisting that not releasing Patrick Sawyer was tantamount to kidnap and abuse of his human rights.
