Chris Okotie who had called on the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor to resign from his post over the involvement of his aircraft in the controversial $9.3m seized by |South Africa from two Nigerians and one Israeli has been asked by the association to first manage his home and keep to biblical principles of one man, one wife.
According to Okotie ''this is without prejudice to the on going investigation on the matter. Denials of his culpability by the Federal Government, CAN officials and his own recent defence, does nothing to reduce the moral burden this whole saga places on his shoulders. As the titular leader of Christians in Nigeria, there is now a serious crisis of confidence on his leadership and he ought to respond to it by resigning from his exalted position''
But CAN Director of National issues Mr. Sunny Oibe asked ''how many wives Okotie has? and that he was only seeking for cheap popularity. He should first sort out himself by removing the log from his eyes before wanting to remove the specks from another's eyes. He said ''even the government has exonerated Pastor Ayo of all the allegations. So who is Okotie?
