Woman has sex with 12 strangers in a year with her husband's full consent

 
A middle-aged woman had sex with 12 strangers in a year with her husband's consent following a midlife crisis.

Robin Rinaldi, 50, embarked on the 12-month experiment after vowing she would not die childless having slept with just four men.

Married to Scott for 18 years, Ms Rinaldi, a journalist aged 44 at the time, decided to embark on a journey of sexual discovery, the details of which she has detailed in a memoir called 'The Wild Oats Project."

For 12 months the couple had an 'open' marriage, with her living away from the marital home during the week, and the couple sleeping with other people.

In an interview with the New York Post she explained that sex in her marriage had become routine, and that she began thirsting for different sexual experiences.

She said: "I was craving seduction and sexual abandon. I was having a midlife crisis and chasing this profound, deeply rooted experience of being female."

Ms Rinaldi said her husband had made it clear he didn't ever want children and had a vasectomy - and that this had made her seek a different "outlet of heightened female experience — taking lovers."

She said she had only slept with three men before meeting Scott at the age of 26.

In 2008, she told Scott that she didn't want to “go to my grave with no children and four lovers."

They eventually agreed that she would rent an apartment during the week and the couple would be back together on the weekends.

Both could sleep with anyone they liked, but must use condoms and would not discuss their lovers with each other, the NY Post reports.

She placed an advert on the website nerve.com reading: “I’m a 44-year-old professional, educated, attractive woman in an open marriage, seeking single men age 35-50 to help me explore my sexuality.

"You must be trustworthy, smart, and skilled at conversation as well as in bed.”

She explained to potential suitors that their tryst would last no more than three dates, as she did not want to become seriously involved with anyone.

Twenty-three people responded to her within 24 hours of placing it.

She slept with men from a wide range of ages, including a 23-year-old who asked her for her number afterwards - which she refused to give him.
