Bureau de Change manager in court for stealing $50,000

A manager of a bureau de change Abubakar Abdullahi has been arraigned before Justice Dije Aboki of Kano State High Court for defrauding its employer of an amount running into millions of naira.

Abdullahi, who was the manager of Maisabilu Bureau de Change Kano (before his arrest) was said to have in April 2013 purchased on his company's behalf $50,000 from the Central Bank.  The said money was for a customer Mr. Bello Sani Yakassai.  But he converted the said sum for his personal use.

The anti-graft body said that the offence contravened section 314 of the penal code of the law of Kano State.
