I will never leave PDP; but a drug baron cannot be Chairman Committe of PDP in South-West -Obasanjo

Former President Obasanjo in reaction to the pleas made last week by the PDP Chairman, Senator David Mark and others to please come back to the party has said, he bore no grudge against anybody in the PDP.  But rather that he is not happy with Mr. Baruji Kashamu being the Chairman, Mobilization and organization Committee of the PDP in the  South West.

He also as stated by Punch see the plea to return back to the PDP as wrong because he never left the party in the first place and never intend to do so.

He said ''I have had occasions to say to the president (Goodluck Jonathan), the Senate President and the party Chairman separately that  I have no quarrel with any individual or group in the party.  There are for me issues of principle, morality, honour, integrity, commitment and character which are paramount''.

''For instance, as a former President of Nigeria, the Chairman of West Africa Commission on Drug and a member of the Global Commission on Drug, I cannot accept that the zonal leader of my party and worse still in my zone will be an indicted drug baron wanted in America.  How do I explain that to friends outside Nigeria?  This is only one of many issues that I have pointed out''

He said he has a national and international standard to maintain and reputation to keep and sustain.
