A 41-year-old man has been sentenced to 6 years imprisonment by the Sheffield Crown Court for repeatedly defiling his 13-year-old daughter over a 6-month period.
The school girl who got to know her long-lost dad for the first time at age 13, was able to track him through facebook and friend's posting, found out that he was living in South Yorkshire.
He then invited the school girl to stay longer with him after their first meeting. But he then went on to repeatedly have sex with her on a regular basis over a six month period.
The court heard that after the man split from his girlfriend, he invited the girl to sleep on his bed saying he will sleep on the sofa. But at night, it was learnt, he crept into the bed and had sex with her.
The little girl said she could not resist because he was her dad and ''I had only just met him, so I went along with it.'' The 41-year-old also encouraged the teenager to drink alcohol before having sex with her.
The court also heard how the man had initially been jailed for 12 months in February 2012 after he was convicted for detaining a 15-year-old girl without lawful authority.
Judge Simon Lawler while jailing him said, ''Over a period of six months you grossly abused your position of trust. She was 13 and you were 41 and you took advantage of her.''
The man is already on the sex offenders register and was made subject to a sex offenders prevention order and barred from working with children.
