Thousands of supposed rented Jonathan's supporters today at the Eagle Square staged a sit-down protest to show their annoyance over the non-payment of the agreed sum of N2000 for each person.
Some of the hired supporters said the handlers of the various groups who hired them did not show concern about their welfare despite them having undertaken long journeys to be present at the declaration yesterday.

One of them said, ''They asked us to enter the bus when they came to Maraba this morning and they promised to give us two thousand Naira each and also give us food but we are very disappointed to see them running around and later disappear into the middle of the crowd and nobody come back to give any money or bring water for us to drink.”
