Operatives of
the Department of State Services on Friday allegedly arrested a former governor
of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva over unknown offences. He was said to have been whisked away by DSS
personnel to an unknown location.
But when
contacted, the Deputy Director, DSS, Public Relations, Marilyn Ogar, denied knowledge
of the incident.
“Why would he
(Sylva) be picked up? I am in the office, I don’t have such information with
me,” she said.
The
Spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress, Lai Mohammed, however confirmed
Sylva’s arrest and said he would issue a statement shortly.
