Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hedid cover up as they visit a mosque, also got blasted for taking selfies

Kendall Jenner and Friend Gigi Hedid paid a visit to the Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi earlier today.  And they were joined by pals, Salene Gomez, Shay Mitchell, Davon Windsor and Gigi’s boyfriend Cody Simpson.

 

All teens covered their heads for the visit while they all wore the traditional abayas and hijabs.

 

But not everyone was amused by the selfie which they took inside the mosque and which was posted on Gigi’s instagram.

 

One user commented: “Covering your head at a mosque/covering up generally in Islam is for modesty, and to diminish vanity. Taking a selfie of you doing that is kind of defeats the point and is a bit disrespectful at a place of worship (sic).”

 

Another Twitter user wrote: "Kendall, Gigi, Selena and co. That is a Mosque NOT a tourist centre. Bunch of uneducated, disrespectful idiots."

 

While another added: "I love kendall and gigi but this is totally DISRESPECTFUL. A mosque is a holy place for muslims not a tourist centre."

 

The selfie, which has been liked 164,000 times, also saw the girls get high praise for their striking photo.
