God Help Us! Another deadly virus surfaces- Marburg Haemorrhagic Fever (MHF)

With the world still trying to find a solution to the scourge which the Ebola virus is subjecting humans to, another virus as deadly as the Ebola  virus has brought new fears.

According to the Tribune, the recent death of a Ugandan hospital technician was as a result of the MHF virus.

Ugandan Ministry of Health disclosed that 99 people who came in contact with the hospital technician had all be quarantined.  And are being monitored for any of the MHF signs and symptoms.

The symptoms of the MHF disease are headache, abdominal pains, diarrhoea and vomiting.

The MHF virus disease was first identified in 1967 after outbreaks in Marburg and Frankfurt Germany, Belgrade, Serbia and Yugoslavia.

Marburg Haemorrhagic disease is a rare but severe haemorrhagic fever which affects both humans and non-human primates.  it is caused by a genetically unique zoonotic RNA virus of the filovirus family
