Policeman slumps, dies during promotion exam at Police College

A Nigerian Police Sargeant identified simply as Lekan reportedly slumped and died during an assessment exercise at the Police College Ikeja Lagos.

Sergeant Lekan who had previously written the promotional examination which took place from Wednesday to Friday last week was expectedly undergoing an assessment test with other police officers assembled on the parade ground awaiting their turn.  The situation turned tragic when |Sergeant Lekan suddenly slumped and efforts to resuscitate him proved abortive.

An ambulance later arrived which took the body to the mortuary.  Despite this huge set back, the ceremony still went on.

Sergeant Lekan was said to have been sick during the promotional examination, and was expected to have been promoted to the rank of an Inspector.
