One killed and two seriously injured during a kerosene explosion in Edo State

A 15-year-old boy have met his untimely death while two others are seriously burnt when an explosion suspected to have been cause by adulterated kerosene happened at Ukpebe Street, Off Textile Mill Road, Benin, Edo State.  The explosion which happened around 2.30am left 31-year-old Loveth Ode, her two-year-old son and her relative Omonefe with serious burns.
 
Omonefe unfortunately, died on the way to the hospital.
 

The incident was said to have happened when the woman, Loveth Ode tries to refill an already lit lantern in the room with kerosene.
 
Her husband Sunday, a farmer who hails from Ughelli North in Delta State stated that although the fire caused by the explosion did not affect other rooms in the compound, it however destroyed some of his valuable property.
 
He further said, ''I received a call this morning that my room on ukpebe Street caught fire last night as mu wife tried to refill the lantern.  ''I was shocked and rushed to the hospital where they were taken to.  But my sister's son who was staying with me died on the way to the hospital.''

    1. I tire o! always bad news from that Edo State! With all the enlightenment not to put kerosene into a burning lantern or stove! People with blocked ears! Tufiakwa!
