Four passengers were injured after a plane was blown off the runway by high wind

Four passengers were injured today after a plane which was trying to take off was blown off the runway at the Stornoway Airport on the Isle of Lewis in a remote town in Scotland.

The twin-propeller Saab 340 which had 28 people on board was on its way to Glasgow.  As the flight attempted to take off, strong wind caused it to veer off the tarmac and nose-dived into the grass.

The injured people were taken to the Western Isle Hospital while authorities are investigating the incident.
