Rivers State University expels 366 students over inability to make CGPA of 1.00

At least 366 students of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt, were expelled by the management of the institution for poor performance in their academic studies.

RSUST Vice Chancellor, Professor Barineme Fakae, who made this announcement today at the 33rd Matriculation ceremony of the university, explained that the affected students could not meet the minimum standard required by the institution.
He pointed out that the expelled students could not make the Cumulative Grade Point Average of 1.00 and were withdrawn from the university at the end of the 2013/2014 session.

Fakae also disclosed that for the 2013/2014 academic session, eight best performing students of the university from seven different faculties were rewarded with one laptop computer each, adding that the move was aimed at encouraging healthy competition in academics among students.
