Shettima of Borno State was alleged to have been attacked by PDP thugs
yesterday along the Kashim Ibrahim Way in Maiduguri, Borno State.
The governor was said to have earlier planned to go around the state capital in the morning to inspect some projects and visit hospitals, but was later informed by his security details that the town was not safe for him. And he was advised to move the visits to 3pm.
Sources said the youths, armed with machetes, knives and sticks, positioned
themselves at strategic points waiting for the governor, who they alleged has
failed the people of the tate.
After the attack, 15 vehicles in the governor’s convoy were destroyed and some people sustained injuries.
State Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Ali Bukar Dalori, in his reaction, pointed accusing fingers at some political thugs associated with former Governor of Borno State, Ali Modu Sheriff.
