The nanny who kidnapped three of the Orekoya boys from their Surulere home is said to have contacted the Orekoya family on Thursday and has also demanded N15million as ransom.

The Orekoya family had posted an advert 0n OXL, an on-line platform seeking for the services of a nanny for their 4 boys.

Mary Akinloye (the kidnapper) got in touch with the family indicating her interest to take up the offer.  During her brief interview, she gave the contacts of two of her supposed relatives who lived in Ikorodu.  These relatives were contacted and they affirmed that they were indeed her relatives.

And all parties agreed to formalize all documentation this week.  And the nanny was asked to commenced work.

After the 23-year-old resumed work on Tuesday, she was said to have taken the three children – Aderamola (11months), Adedamola, 4-years and Demola, 6-years-old out, while their parents were away.

A reliable source close to the family said the kidnappers contacted the family and are demanding N15million naira.

This information was confirmed by another close friend of the family who posted on her Facebook page saying ‘’Is it a crime to employ a house help?  The kidnappers have demanded N15m’’.

The Police Public Relation Officer for Lagos State, Kenneth Nwosu said investigations were on.  He said, ‘’ Investigations are on and that is all I can say for now.’’

There are things you do that can jeopardize investigation.  What is important in a case like this is to ensure that the children are returned hale and hearty.  There are information you may have and if you disclose it, you could break the line of communication.  So, we are still on the matter to ensure the safe return of the kinds.’’
