According to Sun Newspaper, a 20-year-old
electrician at Akaboedoji, Uruagu Nnewi in Nnewi North Local Government Area of
Anambra State, at the weekend, stabbed one Lotanna Izeji, a motorcyclist, and
father of two to death during a fight.
The suspect, whose name was
given as Onyeka, now at large, was said to have waylaid the 48-year-old
deceased, as he was riding home, following a misunderstanding between Izeji and
his father.
A source stated that during a hot argument that ensued, both
men, were engaged in a fight but were separated by passers-by. They were said to have
resumed the fight when they returned home as they lived in the same building.
The source said it was during
the second fight that the suspect allegedly grabbed a broken bottle and stabbed
Izeji in the neck, cutting his major arteries and he died before he could be
taken to a hospital.
Meanwhile, the father of the
suspect was said to have been arrested by the police over the incident, while
the body of the deceased has been deposited at a morgue.
When contacted, the Police
Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Anambra State, Mr. Uche Ezeh (DSP),
said he had not been informed of the incident.
