Several reports online states that the acclaimed music producer, OJB
Jezreel is suffering from diabetes and a relapse of his kidney ailment.
He is said to be receiving treatment for the diabetes at an undisclosed
hospital in Lagos. It was farther
disclosed, that the veteran hit producer might not be financially capable to
treat himself, and complete the 5 stage dialysis to keep him alive. He is said
to have stopped at stage 3 at LUTH after he was discharged for not being able
to pay his bills.
OJB will now have to come from his Surulere residence to continue the
weekly dialysis treatment which is meant to last for two more weeks.
A source said part of the reason why OJB suffered a relapse is because he
never went back to India for his post-transplant treatment.
In October 2013, OJB Jezreel underwent a kidney transplant at the
Columbia Asian Hospital India. The kidney was donated to him by his first wife
Mabel. He spent three months in India before returning back to Nigeria in December
2013. Most of the money he used for the transplant then was donated by good
hearted Nigerians.
In September 2014, He was involved in a car accident with a friend. His
friend who was with him in the car sustained serious injuries. But OJB suffered
minor injuries and had to walk with a stick for some time.
