Cameroon paid Boko Haram $400k ransom

It has been disclosed that to seek the release of Francoise Agnes Maukouri, wife of the Cameroonian Vice Minister Amodou Ali, a ransom of $400k and significant amount of ammunitions was paid as ransom to the Boko Haram insurgents.



The insurgents also received an undisclosed amount of money from the Chinese government for the release of 10 Chinese construction workers who were abducted in May this year.

The office of the Cameroonian President declared today that a total of 27 hostages including Mrs. Ali, 10 Chinese construction workers, the district head of Kolofata were released.
