France admits ownership of the impounded plane by authourities at the Aminu Kano International Airport

The impounded Autonov 124 Russian commercial plane which was seized on Saturday at the Aminu Kano International Airport belongs to France.

 

The French ambassador to Nigeria released a statement saying the plane had to divert to an alternative and nearest airport in other to refuel.  He denied that the plane was carrying arms and ammunitions.  Instead that the plane had two light Gazelle helicopter, spare parts and maintenance items on board which all belong to the French Army.

 

 

 

He further stated that these information had been supplied to the Nigerian Government who had acted on them and discovered them to be true.. He announced that the plane will be allowed to continue its journey to its final destination which is Ndjamena Chad.
