Seven drug traffickers who ingested a total of 8.7kg cocaine were napped by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA when they tried to board an Ethiopian flight from Abuja.
The caught traffickers are, Fred Obi (49), Ekechi Ferdinand (36), Okonkwo Paul (20), Azubuogu Obumneme (30), Okechi Anthony (34), Anozie Henry (34) and Okafor Francis (51).

Six out of the seven suspects were heading to Hong Kong while the seventh suspect was traveling to Israel.
Ferdinand excreted 1.616kg of cocaine, Paul - 1.103kg, Obumeneme - 1.450kg, Anthony - 935 grams, Henry excreted 874 grams and the oldest of the suspects Francis excreted 1.167kg.
Chairman of NDLEA. Ahmadu Giade said the suspects whose final destination was Hong Kong were lucky because it is clearly stated on their visas that drug trafficking to Hong Kong attracts the death penalty. And also that Nigeria was saved the embarrassment if they had be caught at their final destination.
Giade said drug barons are devising new ways of transporting their drugs to world markets. He said the are also adopting more sophisticated modes of concealment. But that the agency is also devising and identifying better, faster and innovative ways of getting them. He stated that having seven drug traffickers on the same flight shows the desperation of the drug traffickers.
