A north Texas real estate agent was allegedly shot and killed by her husband while she spoke with a 911 operator who she'd called for help.

Lavera Aiken Dooley was reportedly trying to get help and trying to leave her home when she was gunned down in her driveway Thursday night as an emergency dispatcher listened in horror.

Sheriff's deputiee rushed to the Pecan Plantation gated community, located about 40 miles southwest of Ft. Worth, around 10 p.m. Thursday. They found the 65-year-old woman slumped over in her car, shot multiple times.

Her husband, Tom Dooley, has been arrested and the Hood County sheriff's office says he admitted to the shooting.  He is being held on a $500,000 bond.

The victim owned The Aiken Insurance Group.

The 911 call has not yet been released, by order of the District Attorney.
