She has modelled
for over 25 years.
And despite the
countless photo shoots and walks down the runway, Tyra Banks hasn't quite been
seen like this before.
The 41-year-old
model took to her various social media accounts on Friday to show off her
drastic new pixie cut.
She made the
shocking reveal on her Instagram page with a black and white photo of the back
of her head while she sported a much shorter hairstyle.
The America Next
Top Model star captioned the image to her 2.7million followers: 'It's about
time.'
Then she continued
two hours later on the picture-sharing social network with a black and white
profile shot showing the new do in all it's glory.
She proudly posted
the photo with a special message to her photographer mother Carolyn London: 'Mom,
I finally did it!'
Tyra did not stop
there as she also took to Twitter to share a few more photos of the new look
including a selfie with the caption: 'snip #NotTooShort.'
She also tweeted
out another shadowy black and white snap of her turning her head to show off
the freshly chopped hair.
