Four kidnappers of a hotel manager in Ikorodu, Lagos arrested by the police

Four members of a kidnapping gang who allegedly abducted Mr. Durodola Muwalu, the manager of Dam-Jay hotels in the Ikorodu area of Lagos have been arrested by the police.
 
Mr. Muwalu was kidnapped on December 4, at about 7pm while driving home to Itokun in Ikorodu, Lagos and was taken to a hideout in Imoru, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.  After which the gang members put a call to his family requesting for N60million ransom.
 
On Tuesday December 5th, 2014, the police eventually located the kidnappers hideout in Ijebu Ode and rescued the hotel manager.
 
 
 

The police said that one pump-action rifle and 12 cartridges were recovered from the gang.  The four suspected kidnappers arrested are, Felix Ikuomola, Gbenga Popoola, Adebayo Akibu and Azeez Olowu.
 
In their confession, Popoola, a native of Epe, Lagos stated that they were sent by one Agbogidi, a chief in the Itokun area to kidnap Mr. Muwalu.  He said Agbogidi said the hotel owner bought vehicles for other chiefs but left him out.
 
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu confirmed the arrest of the kidnappers, adding that investigations were on.
 
He said, ''The kidnappers hideout was traced to Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, and after the police searched the compound, the victim was rescued, while the suspects were arrested.
 
He stated that investigation continue on the matter.
