Hard times are ahead for the Super Eagles of Nigeria. Their inability to qualify for next year's African Nations Cup have started having a repealing effects.
The giant kit manufacturing firm, Nike, has turned down a proposal by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) for a marketing deal.
Adidas has also written that they will not be renewing their existing sponsorship contract of the team once the contract expires this December.
Adidas had complained after the Brazil 2014 World Cup that despite the fact that it was the official kit sponsor of the Super Eagles, that players and officials prefer to wear and advertise the products/kits of other manufacturing firms.
If the NFF is unable to get a sponsor deal for the Super Eagles, the Federation will be losing up to €7billion of kits and the annual grant of €850,000 from Adidas in 2015.
An NFF official said the nations teams will face a serious kit crises in 2015 if they fail to get a deal by second quarter of 2015.
He said, ''The rate at which things are moving, the Nation might just go to China to produce the kits directly.''
He said with the current rating of the nations football, no kit manufacturing firm has shown any interest in the U17, U20, U23 and the Super Eagles.
