2 million people to visit Berlin to celebrate 25 years of the fall of the Berlin Wall

It is estimated that about two million people will visit Berlin to celebrate 25 years since the wall was torn down by revolution protesters.

To mark this historic event, the borders between West and East has been lit up by 8,000 glowing balloons.  This eight mile stretch of the former border will be lit up until dusk on Sunday when they will be released into the sky.

The balloon passes through landmarks such as Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag as they zigzag their way through Berlin.

The balloons are a poignant symbol of peace and a celebration of 25 years from the fall of the wall that marked the end of communism.

The Lichtgrenze (Lightborder) - an art installation was created by two brother Marc and Christopher Bauder
